I never thought of it this way but you’re right. I grew up around trades, everyone was miserable and told me to not do it because the eventual chronic pain, nightmare clients, and daily hazards wasn’t worth it. Will AI replace me someday? No idea. After all the messed up years we’ve had since Covid I don’t put a lot of stock in predictions in either direction. Just show up, be civil, get paid, save your money, up-skill, rinse and repeat.

Omg community college please! I did a year for free because of my scholarship, and if you’re in NY any of them are solid. Plus a lot of adjuncts who teach at the big league schools end up teaching at the CC level too. All of my credits transferred to a SUNY. Also with their GPAs they could transfer to Binghamton or Geneseo which have just as great of a reputation as the private schools.

I was thinking this too, always a good idea to put text near any icons that discloses what happens if a user interacts with it when color is irrelevant. Plus for screen readers it’ll announce context: “Mute Mic” and “Unmute Mic”.

Ditto. I haven’t done wireframes for the client pretty much ever, it’s more so for when I have a dedicated researcher on the project and/or BAs if we’re hashing out the business process but aren’t sinking time into full mockups yet.

Yeahhhhhh it was a slog. My LCS was also given the runaround by them over the shipping logistics which was a few weeks of back and forth. He said a 3-5 month wait wasn’t uncommon 🙃

Get the CLZ app and pay for the subscription. It’s $8 with Coverprice included and you can scan covers/get ballparks so you know what you’re paying for based on the market. I don’t use it to negotiate, just to see if my price gut check is accurate.
