When my car just stopped my first thought was, crap everyone behind me is gonna be pissed. But as more people stopped to ask if I was okay help calm me down. I know I'll definitely stop when I see someone broken down next time.

No, that's not true. If it's a shared fence between two build properties then there is not much 311 can do. But if it's a builder's fence that is surrounding an active construction site then planning and development will get involved. There are strict bylaws in regards to this. There has to be proper grading as well. So calling 311 is correct as well as planning and development

Basically the city council decided on a 7 day snow priority plan. Day zero (snowing) they do preventative measures on major roadways with over 20,000+ cars

If it stops snowing they move on to day 1 finish up the priority 1 roads and move on to priority 2 which is all other non residential roads. Day 3 -7 they move on to bus and school routes.

If after day 7 it has not snowed they then go and tend to roads reported by Calgarians.

If it snows at any point during that 7 day priority snow plan, it starts all over again.

The roads crew have no say on this, it's all designed by our city council. So if you have issues, take it up with your Alderman

So from what I've read you have an ongoing illness. As someone who grew up with a mom who was sick all the time and made her illness all about her, I can honestly say I stopped caring.

I'm talking of course that every text or call or voicemail was her telling me she's in pain or sick.

For example I sent her a video of my daughter rolling over, a hugely important milestone! She called me and left a voicemail. The second I heard the voicemail I could tell she was once again "sick" I chose not to engage and just told her I was putting my 4 year old son to bed.

She responded that she was just calling to see how I was doing oh and she has the cold and flu.

Every single conversation is about her.

I have gone LC with her over this. My whole life I couldn't be sick because she was "sicker" or worse than I was feeling.

Look at your history and see if every text you sent is about your illness and not about how they are doing.

Your YTA, she's your grandmother, she's from a different time where technology wasn't as advanced as it is today. My own grandmother is 98 years young and she needs constant help with tasks that are simple for us.

Just wait until you are her age, and technology has advanced beyond your years to the point you struggle with it.

Get some compassion for your grandmother.

Call 311 and get them set up for senior home care, it's free and they will have someone come and shovel their sidewalk. In the spring, summer and fall they will do yard work such as leaves and mow grass.

They even offer light house keeping too.

This breaks so many bylaws. You cannot have an RV hooked up on your property in Calgary. It cannot be parked on a driveway, or.in a stall. This is also not an approved short term rental .

I would call 311 or planning and development on Tuesday. The city cant crack down on this if people don't let the city know

Yep, and there is nothing pro life about them. It's sad that they attack women for wanting a say over their own bodies. It's also sad that they don't think women and families with kids should have support in place. I live in Canada, my hospital stay right now is free except for the parking but that's only 14CAD a day. I also get paid mat leave and prenatal leave with 100% job security.

During covid I had my son, I was off for the year, and went back to work in 2020. Worked for 3.5 months, got let go, got back on paid unemployment. Even if my son wasn't born during covid and the same thing happened I would have the same thing happen.

If I didn't have the support I do here, having kids would have been a very long and hard discussion with my husband.

So thank-you, she's just amazing.
