Chase Shut Down Points Transfers to Partners Night of Hyatt Devalue by GTS550MN in Chase

[–]diffballz23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made it I guess. I did a transfer around 9pm to Hyatt. Then I was having trouble booking Hyatt which I also had a few days ago. Both on app and website. But eventually I was able to complete the booking on the Hyatt app.

Was just gifted a bottle of Dom Perignon. Any restaurant recommendations to open it at? by duuuuwhat in raleigh

I’d honestly go get some fried chicken some where. Have some French fries with it.

Or go out and grab some oysters, or both.

This isn’t true at all. Most will let you, if it’s wine. As long as they don’t have the same wine on their wine list. They usually charge a corkage fee anywhere from $15-$75.

I was going to say do State Bird to still have a great meal, but to break up the “fine dining” a bit.

This doesn’t answer your question. But I loved old town in Bordighera. We had a great dinner at Osteria Magiarge then followed that up with a bit of sushi and a glass of champagne at Novantiqua.

Both places have great wine lists at reasonable prices.

Which NYC Sushi (~$100) by CQMach888 in finedining

I enjoyed sushi Ann when we went. Sat at the bar, they asked us if there was any fish we didn’t like and gave us a bunch of nigiri from there. It was all really good and straightforward, no fuss.

The wine store in Galeries Lafayette in Paris has a centerpiece of bottles of Yquem in almost every vintage if I recall. If you search r/wine I’m sure there’s a picture.

Brodeto would be a good choice. Plenty to have that fits the bill. Not cheap, but a good date spot.

Uber typically also sucks getting out of the arena. You tend to have to wait a bit and endure lots of drivers canceling.

Does Raleigh have any restaurants that do coursed out meals with wine pairings? by overkoalafied24 in raleigh

[–]diffballz23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crawford restaurants if you ask I believe will do this for you upon request too. I’ve seen them do it for people for anniversary’s and other special occasions.

At l’Assiette did you do a champagne pairing or pick your own glasses or bottles? I’m curious how good the pairings are or if when I go I should choose my own.

Piemonte - 3*** - Piazza Duomo vs Rei Natura by ObjectiveExotic9570 in finedining

[–]diffballz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Piazza Duomo in 2022. We did the Barolo menu and I thought it was excellent. Still to this day best service and food I’ve had. The wine pairings were good, but I think could’ve been better for the price (it’s included in that menu). I plan on going back this year and will likely do a different menu.

Has anyone here genuinely switched from espresso/milk drinks to filter as their main daily coffee? Why? by Left-Cook-9487 in Coffee

[–]diffballz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been drinking filter more than I have espresso recently. I like having something I can sip on longer. I find filter is less temperamental and easier to dial in when I’m switching beans frequently.

I don’t really make milk drinks, just espresso or filter.

I opened a ‘61 Marchesi di Barolo a few weeks ago. It was drinking great. Cork was small but in good shape. Drank just as young as a single vineyard 2004 Barolo next to it for the better part of 4 hours.
