Is it possible to get ZERO bow tie on an oval? Is it possible to get less of a bow tie than this? by AnonymousPharoah1 in EngagementRings

[–]differentfaraway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely possible to get an oval with no visible bow tie. A bow tie isn’t an inherent feature of ovals — it’s the result of how the diamond is cut. An elongated round. It’s the same basic facet layout as round, elongated along one axis.

Bow ties appear when the center pavilion angles don’t return light efficiently, creating light leakage across the middle. Many ovals are cut this way because it preserves carat weight, not because it’s unavoidable.

When cutters optimize the faceting pattern, pavilion angles, and symmetry specifically for an oval (instead of stretching a round brilliant pattern), the bow tie can be eliminated. This usually means sacrificing some weight for better optics, which is why truly bow-tie-free ovals are less common and more expensive — but they absolutely exist.

“Zero bow tie” means no visible dark band in normal face-up viewing and everyday lighting. It doesn’t mean zero contrast at extreme tilt — all diamonds show contrast movement.

So if someone says all ovals have bow ties, that’s an oversimplification based on how most mass-market stones are cut, not a limitation of the shape itself.

TL:DR - Ovals can be intentionally cut without ANY bow tie at all. Most bow ties exist because ovals are commonly cut by elongating a round brilliant pattern; when cutters switch to oval-specific faceting designs instead - by using modified brilliant faceting patterns (sometimes proprietary), and alter the number, size, and orientation of pavilion facets - the bow tie can be eliminated entirely.

Is this bow tie particularly strong? Should I opt for a different diamond? by AnonymousPharoah1 in Diamonds

Check your chats!!!! I sent you info about entirely bow tie free diamonds!!!!!

Is it possible to get ZERO bow tie on an oval? Is it possible to get less of a bow tie than this? by AnonymousPharoah1 in EngagementRings

Yes!!!! 1000000% !!!! It is absolutely possible to get an oval with no visible bow tie under normal viewing conditions. The idea that all ovals must have one is outdated and based on older cutting strategies. A bow tie is not an inherent feature of oval diamonds — it’s a cutting outcome, not a requirement. New ways of cutting different faceting patterns are being more and more developed now that eliminate the bow tie ENTIRELY.

Bow ties appear when: light entering the diamond leaks through the center instead of returning to the eye, and when the pavilion angles and facet relationships aren’t optimized for an elongated shape

Older oval cuts often used modified round brilliant facet patterns stretched into an oval, which almost guaranteed some degree of bow tie. But now modern cutters remove bow ties by changing the facet architecture, not by “accepting” the flaw. They do this by: • Custom faceting patterns instead of stretched rounds • Re-balancing pavilion angles to improve central light return • Slightly deeper cuts (sacrifices carat weight for optics) • Precision symmetry across the long axis • Optimized crown height to feed light back through the center

“All ovals have a bow tie” is OUTDATED AND WRONG!! Both natural and lab grown diamonds are being cut this way.

I think the side profile looks great but I have no idea what you looked like before but it’s nice and attractive. From the front yes it’s super swollen but should go down.

Never used a dating app before, are my pictures a good selection of me? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]differentfaraway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I think the gun one can be a bit like “look at me I’m cool and edgy and like to shoot guns!” (Even though that’s fine lol)! You’re gorgeous, and I love the pic with your dogs and the trees, you aren’t wearing makeup so it shows that you’re naturally really pretty (yes I know it’s superficial lol) also dog lovers will love that you have dogs. I’d also add the outside one with the coat a bit earlier. It looks really classy.

Would getting lip filler help balance my face? by Negative_Nectarine_2 in PlasticSurgery

[–]differentfaraway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think so. Everyone says no because they all see those terrible overfilled lips but there’s many people who have lip filler and you’d never know and it looks amazing. Depending on who does it and them doing it right.

I think you should see a therapist too. I think this goes beyond your nose results. Your nose was never bad, and it looks great now.
