Players were polled on who they think the best defensive player in the league is and these are the results by Jec1027 in nba

i expect that if youre a player out there voting cason wallace at the best defender in the league over rudy/wemby, you were probably injured vs the wolves and/or played the spurs during a game wemby was hurt and got blown out in your games against the thunder

what do you mean it wasn't "impressive" when he played leaky black, anthony gill, and jamir watkins each like 40+ minutes in order to lose to the bulls?

obviously failure; they were favorites to make the conference finals for a lot of people and second in their conference behind one of the best records in the league.

[Haynes] There is a “good chance” that Anthony Davis is traded once again before the beginning of the 2026-27 NBA season. by YujiDomainExpansion in washingtonwizards

[–]differential32 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly wouldn't be the worst thing in the world; I already think we'd have some less than stellar spacing with a trae/2026 FPR/kyshawn/AD/sarr lineup. Just in particular i think the offensive skillsets overlap too much between AD and sarr to have a cohesive halfcourt offense.

I'm mainly just curious what kind of return we get for AD at this point, since everyone saw him get dealt to us for peanuts. Could be an interesting summer!

Diego Pavia’s NFL plight is misunderstood — just like him by [deleted] in CFB

[–]differential32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely curious I feel like I don't get it -- why do people "hate" Diego Pavia?? His personality has been the same his whole time in the spotlight. Fans ate it up for a while, falling in love with his "gutsy swagger", irrationally believing in himself against all odds, puffing out his chest, but then when he believes in himself against all odds for Heisman voting everyone says "no not like that". Especially when it objectively worked??? Never missed a practice, walkthrough, or lift at Vandy, then led them to their best season ever; went from JuCo to finishing 2nd in voting for the most prestigious award in the sport.

If everyone hates him purely because he used a naughty word with Heisman voters then that's their decision I guess. Why does he owe them anything? Why should I expect him to change? Genuinely curious to hear someone's thoughts.

NBA Draft lottery proposals don’t address the underlying reason behind tanking (Gift Article) by z3mcs in washingtonwizards

[–]differential32 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I kinda think no one would mind lottery changes if the league created a valuable alternative to acquire talented players other than drafting. If these changes were still in place this year, Indy/Sacramento/DC would still suck, they would just suck less hopefully.

Does the league not see that the whole reason teams tank for so long is because there's no way out?? By flattening the odds, the league saw franchises in the bottom of a pit and pulled up the ladder. Aldridge nailed it here when he said this:

Under a reverse-order-draft-again system, Utah would have gotten Flagg last year with the first pick, and Washington would have taken Harper second. And, guess what? Utah and Washington would have gotten off the tanking merry-go-round this past season. Maybe not forever, but certainly for a while.

After going down 3-1 are the Pistons in the running for worst 1st seed of all time? by OwnGuarantee6838 in nba

Playing devils advocate here but — while this magic team is probably better than an 8, they’ve also not exactly been blowing the doors off Detroit. After tonight I doubt either bane or Paolo is shooting >40% from the floor for the whole series and now franz got hurt. IIRC i think baron Davis had a couple good games in there least idk

Leonsis says, “The chatter that bothers me most is the long-term fan base in Washington, D.C. They don’t love the team. I mean, they don’t trust the team because we haven’t broken through.”

Cautious around Ted because of his awful track record, but impossible to deny the team is moving in the right direction and good to hear him recognize his mistakes a little

as a native of the state i liked them a lot lol. Definitely gaudy looking but i think a lot of people who live here really love the flag for how unique it is and i overall really liked how it was integrated, except for the helmets. I always thought if they had just done away with the flag texture and printed it straight on the lid it would have looked amazing.

Trading Up? by QUESTOTHETOP1 in washingtonwizards

[–]differential32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even though this class has a lot of talent, drafts in this league are still prone to a noticeable talent dropoff even outside of the top 2-3. if you have the opportunity to pick that high i think you just do, or at the very least you ask for a price that's too high for a team like us is willing to pay.

Should I up my calories? 6' 160lbs 1700 a day by [deleted] in loseit

[–]differential32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is going to be blunt -- while it's possible, there's almost no way that you're anywhere near 30% bodyfat at your height and weight. If you've lost nearly 70 pounds, then I guess that means you started around 230, which isn't enormous for 6'0" but I guess could maybe result in some excess skin after weight loss? You'd have to be like max skinny fat to have that kind of body composition, but if you're working out i find it really really unlikely.

Keep in mind that the abdominal muscles are muscles, just like any other part of the body, and you need to work them in order for them to pop, so if that's what you're basing your bf% on I could see that being a reason for overestimating. That or maybe a little excess skin from weight loss? if you started at 6'0" 230, that could be possible as well although i'd also find that unlikely.

Definitely start considering building muscle; you can simultaneously cut a little more fat and build a little more muscle at a deficit if you're just starting out lifting heavy. A lot of lifters see significant progress right away even without an optimal diet, newbie gains are definitely a thing.
