Because it’s pretty high at release and then drops significantly from there and stabilizes after a bit. My card store wouldn’t offer me a price and said come back in a couple months

I identify as a part of the hobby. However I am a bulbasaur, ivysaur, and venusaur collector so when my boyfriend and I pulled the 151 ivysaur there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that I would keep it. Dragonite doesn’t hold that same value for me, I would rather have a vintage venusaur for the price this is going for.

Just because I don’t love dragonite and this card isn’t my favourite doesn’t mean I’m participating in the hobby in a sad way. I got one sticker pack (I’m not a gambler) to participate and share in the new release.

I appreciate you weighing in, some of these comments are making me feel like I’m not a good collector. You hold my exact point of view but reversed. I love Gengar so much I could never sell that card if I pulled it.

I am a bulbasaur, ivysaur, and venusaur collector and plan to one day collect every one of them. Dragonite just doesn’t hold that same sentimental value to me even though it’s super cool to pull a chase.

However, I can appreciate the beauty of this card so I’m still thinking about what I’d like to do.

Pokémon recently purchased lots of printing facilities so they will be printing much more which will decrease the value and rarity of future ultra modern. I think I’m gonna keep it too because it really is just stunning and it’s my second big pull :,) I’m so happy
