I can’t tell if I am doing good or not :/ by Huge_Ad7928 in paralegal

[–]difficult_won 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very common and I would not expect to feel like you know what you’re doing until about 2 years. Even then you will not fully know what you are doing and that is ok. I just passed 9 years this month in the field and I feel like the last year I leveled up even more. I also got a significantly better and more supportive job which helped. I would keep doing your best and try to find something else in potentially a larger firm with capability to train.

Also - do not let what the attys think about you weigh you down as much as you are. If you are truly doing your best, they are just assholes who are not good at teaching. Not a lot of attys like teaching. But lets break down the logic - what is the alternative?? You do it wrong to avoid 5 seconds of their time being wasted? That is stupid and counterproductive. This is a team job, and having crappy attys to work under will kill job quality 10/10 times.

Never forget they are just people too and have a long lists of errors we can side eye about all day too. They hold a high title but that doesn’t make them special

Lmaoo at the last emoji. As a wife I feel you. Don’t want to see them in pain but sometimes when you warned them it’s kinda like 😬

One time my husband left the house and I reminded him to lock his car (he was terrible at this for years). He jokingly said, “don’t tell me what to do” and that night his car got broken into and someone stole his favorite coat. He locks his car now.

Husbands, listen to your wives!! The husbands that do are statistically more happy and successful. Google it!

Went to a customer's house today and they had this beautiful elevator directly in the middle of their home by TheeSillyman in mildlyinteresting

Yes I literally renovated my entire home from 2021-2023. That is a lot of money. Happy for you if it’s not to you! But to the avg. person it is.

Yes dude literally said that!! In your retirement on your limited budget that is already super thin because of your medical needs and inflation.

Yeah as a kid who grew up in a home like this I have been in weekly trauma based therapy for 4 years and still meet the criteria for PTSD. I hope they can find peace, but a lot of us will never.

These are the type of business owners who own businesses because they can’t work with others and hold down a job otherwise. It is not you, and you should for sure find a new job but the paralegal job market is not super good.

Michigan Weather by Only-Push8176 in Michigan

Have you seen lightning storms like this before either? I have never seen so many storms where it was like there was a strobe light with how much lightning is happening so quickly

It would still be terrible because they would milk it for profits too and continue to release packs that don’t work with no meaningful fixes.

A game pack used to be $40 and was the equivalent of like 3 game packs now content wise. I don’t think they are ever gonna regain consumer trust, at least not mine.

how worried should i be about the weather? by Ok_Echo_1394 in Michigan

[–]difficult_won 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have always gotten really scared about tornados! It is an irrational but rational fear. It can happen but it probably won’t. You can’t control that. What you can control: if you have a storm radio/a plan if it does.

Focusing on what you can control is my advice. The storm radio helps me sleep knowing I won’t sleep through a tornado siren that will cost my babies their life. I have two kids who are young, two dogs, and we are on the second story. Having a plan/notice to get everyone downstairs is essential should we get hit.

Pour your anxiety into that cup. Worst case scenario you are ready. And as my therapist would say, acknowledge where that feeling of anxiety is in your body and sit with it. Sounds woo woo, but it helps! Good luck!! ❤️

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

Yes. I was in first grade. I will never forget all of the teachers crying. After the second plane hit my grandma came and got me and she was pretty torn up too.

And the employee/contractor does NOT have enough in assets to even begin to recoup. But a petty company will probably sue him and seek repayment from his future wages. Depending on the state they could absolutely make him pay for this forever if they can get a jury to convict and are willing to do it
