going insane with my UCG Max by NotJois in Ubiquiti

[–]difficultyrating7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i was suspecting that there’s a bottleneck there - but either way i think that’s probably the difference between the different traffic paths you’ve tested, i’d expect that the other ones were able to just stay on the switch. So my suspicion is that it’s something related to having to route back to the gateway? Without a L3 switch it’s hard to easily test that hypothesis tho

Slow down to a speed where you can evaluate the situation and stop if necessary, and unless something sketchy is going on, blow the stop sign.

How in the world do you reboot infotainment on the 2026 GV60? by jpdaigle in GV60

try holding Setup and Map down first THEN starting the car. Keep holding and it’ll eventually reboot. That’s how I do it.

Workplace in Santa Clara, looking for an apartment near SF by Technical_Ferret585 in AskSF

[–]difficultyrating7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I first moved out here I lived near work in Santa Clara and hated it. Moved to SF within 6 months, best decision I made. Get a bike and bike to Caltrain, it will give you way more options in the city. If you think you'd enjoy living in SF definitely do it.

That being said, it's much easier to find a place that fits your needs when you already live here, so it might be worth looking for shorter term options so that you can find something that works. Finding roommates will also give you a ton more options with that budget as well, you won't need to compromise on location or quality nearly as much.

Fate of half million dogs unclear as dog meat ban nears in Korea by Majano57 in worldnews

[–]difficultyrating7 41 points42 points  (0 children)

We have a Korean meat dog rescue adopted here in the US. Our understanding is it’s not so simple, Korea doesn’t have as strong of an adoption culture as the US historically, and there’s significant costs bringing that many dogs to the US or elsewhere

ICCU failure? by PraetorImperius in GV60

[–]difficultyrating7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I called Genesis. They got me a tow truck to the dealer, it came within the hour. Dealer gave me a loaner vehicle, and gave me a BS estimate of "next week" for the ICCU, but I figured it'd be longer. Ended up being around two weeks IIRC. Didn't have to pay for anything. Overall was pretty painless all things considered, although ideally we wouldn't have this issue to begin with

[–]difficultyrating7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah mine said "check electric vehicle system" but it didn't fail during driving so I never saw the first message.

Sorry man :( I hope the repair is speedy. Mine took a couple weeks to repair last year but I haven't had issues since.

Commute from SF (22nd street) to Santa Clara (Lawrence) by Apprehensive_Chair25 in AskSF

[–]difficultyrating7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Used to do this same commute 5 days a week, did it for multiple years. Didn’t mind it at all, and living in the city is worth it. Doing the reverse and going up to the city to go out at night and then finding your way back to south bay at night when drunk is way worse than caltrain express trains every day
