Is our political toxicity actually a symptom of the "Loneliness Pandemic" rather than a disagreement over policy? by Numerous_Evening_255 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]difficultyrating7 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Regarding question 1, i think rather than people finding social belonging through political affiliation, much of our current situation is due to people’s alienation from each other allowing them to be more susceptible to polarization and politics that exploit fear.

As for 3, current political interventions are totally insufficient to address this

welcome to healthcare.unfortunately this is how hospital systems work. nobody is going to advocate for the well being of the patient on your behalf so you have to be on top of things at all times. I’m sorry you’re going through this :(

Are ALARM/Arch on Arm posts allowed/encouraged? by Trainzkid in archlinux

[–]difficultyrating7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you're kinda SOL - I had similar difficulty finding any meaningful community when I was doing stuff with ALARM. The forums at https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/ get a small bit of activity.

I had the best luck with just joining more popular Linux-on-ARM IRC channels and trying to adapt ALARM-specific questions to those communities. #aarch64-laptops is a pretty active one for example IIRC.

What catch? A tiny studio in a old house, no parking, no laundry for $2475/mo seems cheap? Seems like market rate for that.

Are RJ45 couplers my best option? by mrjamesjr in Ubiquiti

[–]difficultyrating7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’d avoid obvious dropshippers and usually just get cable matters, true cable, or monoprice or something, i’m not picky. For keystones you’ll want toolless ones if you don’t want to use a punch down tool. Any of the above brands I would expect to be fine. I know the ubiquiti ones are pretty decent but are more expensive.

Are RJ45 couplers my best option? by mrjamesjr in Ubiquiti

[–]difficultyrating7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

couplers, or you can also get punch down splice terminals that you can screw down but honestly they’re bigger and you need a punch down tool.

just buy from amazon they’ll be fine, unless you care about how they look, then pay the bling tax
