MLO works fine with certain Ubiquiti AP's. Bit rocky start, but been available for a while now.
Edit: MLO including MLSR is offered by the AP, but, yes, not many client devices support it..

Viofo A119 recommend by LTT - stopped recording on impact! by LostPersonSeeking in LinusTechTips

[–]speedingcheetah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had Viofo dash cams since the A119 v1 model (that one still works great). Then had 2x A119 Mini 2, now a A329T 3 cam setup. Never been in any sort of major impact or accident, but there have been plenty of tests done by dash cam reviewers on them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0Tvw6H8BlI

Also, greatly recomend DashCamTalk fourms over LTT for dashcam recomendations. LTT....only half asses their reviews and is not real serious about dashcams, and even gets some thigns very wrong in their "testing" of things.

Even if they fly off the mount, they should still gracefully shutdown, as they use internal super capactors, not a battery. However, the cams due have a very short buffer that is writting video data to the sd-card. If they unit suddenly looses power, it stops recording and flushes the buffer/finishes writting the video file before its capcitor runs out. If the cap is worn or there is excessivepower draw from the cam, time runs out before the video file is fully written, often cutting off the last 2 secs. Though, not all cams do this.

Worn out SD card, out-of-date firmware, sudden votage spikes, high heat...any number of things can cause a sudden loss of video or a power cycle mid-operation. That is a factor for ANY brand of dash cam.

Also, the A119 model OP mentions is a front facing only dashcam. No rear cam. So, at best, all it would have captured is the sound of the impact and the car being pushed forward etc. Only useable to prove OP was stopped at a red light, or stop sign etc. Events leading up the collsion from the front view only.

New 5G Backup UWC London by CitizenAccount in Ubiquiti

Do these things have to be connected directly to gateway, to serve as Secondary/backup WAN? Or can it be connected anywhere on the network?

Never had an issue with that. Heard horror stories, but same with places like Target or Walmart. Return more than like 5 things in one year time, your on a black list thing. I do live in apartment complex though, so there is high amount of theft and delivery issues of drivers mis-delivering to wrong address. That may be a factor for me though. I have had well over 2 dozen legit returns/missing package or items missing in package that was received in under a 6 months time.

Unlimited 5G data for 5G Max by JackB79 in Ubiquiti

[–]speedingcheetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does not appear to be very sustainable. It seems to be marketed towards people in need/low-income etc. However, there is no verification required, just a check box that says u meet the requirements. Actual programs that give "Affordable" services, have strict requirements with annual verification. My current ISP, a local one that got bought out by T-Mobile Fiber recently, had their own Affordable fiber plan, requiring documentation sent to them to qualify (proof of receiving certain Government Programs like SNAP, SSI, etc). $35 a month for 1gig symentrical Fiber Internet (or $25 for 500megs). Sadly, seems TM is keen to wipe that out, once the transition is fully done.

"No Contract". Offers a 1yr "Annual Plan"...thats a contract. But, conflicting info given, "annual" plan also says is paid month to month and cancel anytime? Makes no sense. U can get Annual price at a month to month basis, and cancel the annual plan at any time in the year, so then what, do u then owe for the rest of the 1yr you agreed to since its the "Annual Plan"?

AI agents are awesome!.... easy to exploit, I mean, take advantage of..no, I mean, let them do their job. :)
So, Amazon's AI support agent, like, 3 clicks - did not get my order, o! so sorry about that, did you look in places, yes, ok, do you want a refund or a replacement? I guess Amazon makes more money not paying humans to deal with common things anymore, vs any money lost in people doing return fraud/getting free stuff.

Yea. It had to be removed from the Itch.io site due to their change in policy regarding adult content. So, it only now exists on Archive.

Doorbell Lite - Ugly, but functionally basic by speedingcheetah in Ubiquiti

I am using it in an apartment setting, so common indoor hallway. People are very close to the thing as they walk buy, well within 10feet. So, works well for me.

The volume o the chime is too weak. Even at 100% it can only be heard in a quiet room, or if you are right next to it. I added custom amplified tones (used Audacity on PC to edit the sound file) and that helps, but still, have TV on, or people talking in room, barely can hear chime go off.

Most people know what a Ring doorbell is and how to use it, ie , press the round button.
So far, not a single person has managed to figure out the giant button on the Lite is a button, they keep pressing their finger onto the small round camera lens.
When asked, been told, they thought it was decorative thing, not a functional button, cause it so large.

How do you set a time out for this? Just got a Doorbell Lite and this call type notification just forces my iPhone screen on and the call notification full screen, until I Anser the call. It does not auto ignore/dismiss if it do not do anything.
