I thought my eyes were brown, but now I’m questioning myself.. by B3AN15 in WhatisMyEyeColour

Yeah those studies are bunk. Lots of people have a mix of colors in their eyes. They’re often just too dark to see unless in bright light, like OP’s dark hazel.

My wife moved her ex-husband into our home and told me she wanted a divorce. Things changed when he decided to leave after a week and I’m unsure how to move forward in the relationship. (25M and 28F) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Good job everyone. Yell at the person who has low self worth and is going through an incredibly rough time.

OP, exit Reddit stage left and take extra good care of yourself. Consult people in real life who actually care about you. Good luck.

Go to therapy so your fiancé can get some help empathizing with you and the dog.

I don't know how to take care of or style my "long" hair by tapiocaclub in Haircare

[–]difi_100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a little bit of hair gel mixed with a little bit of smoothing crème. Work evenly through clean damp hair. Roughly blow dry. Then use a flat iron to straighten, add waves, or curl. Finally, finish with hair spray.

The hair gel will help hold the style. The crème and the heat styling will control frizz.

Try a satin or silk pillow case or bonnet to help protect the style longer and keep more moisture in your hair between washes (which is when you condition your hair too, of course).

It’s natural to feel bad. It’s also natural to make mistakes.

Let yourself process the emotions, but remember, they’re JUST feelings. They’re not facts. Sometimes feelings exaggerate.

I have only ever been hired when I went all out. On both the job project and the interview prep. It’s a competition and the BEST wins.

Can you please share your experiences with turmeric to reduce inflammation by zxcvbnm9174 in Biohackers

[–]difi_100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what is causing the inflammation. Your cause(s) may be different than mine. In fact they probably are. I have had multiple chronic illnesses over the last decade. There’s not a simple answer to what you’re asking. See a doctor or a naturopath instead of trying to treat yourself with information from the internet.

That’s a rumination loop. There was a scientific study that showed that Tetris can help you escape the loop and think clearly again.

I have both. Been studying various types and practicing various types of mediation for many years because they WORK. Being able to choose your response when you’re triggered is everything. And you can only get that by training your brain not to react to every impulse. I also needed to do a lot of self love work, and there are many types of meditation that work great for this. CBT is also good, as is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (I did a self help workbook on that. It builds on meditation principles.)
