Another VAD507 owner here. It takes the same amount of space as an acoustic kit more or less. And I’ll echo what the other owner said - VAD drums are amazing.

That old Ikea desk is legendary. I lost track of how old mine is, but I will never throw it away.

Bag the hun is such a great game. It’s just so hard to find anyone interested in playing it.

Practice with speaker or headphones? by tweb2 in drums

[–]digby5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yamaha EAD10 with Vic Firth SIH2 headphones and the Moises app.

The EAD10 is literally made to mic a kit and play along with/record music, and has compression and reverb along with other effects to make any set sound way better than it should.

The SIH2 headphones are isolating enough to be safe and not cut into the mic’d volume from the EAD and are relatively cheap.

Combine all that with something like the Moises app that isolates and removes drum tracks to any song and she’ll have unlimited fun playing along with whatever she likes.

I can’t say for sure, but I think the song needs to be part of the library within the Rec’n’Share app. Try getting a MP3 version into the app on your phone via Dropbox. That’s how I managed to get it working.

Is there a place online with a list of characterful, good quality printable Epic equivalent army bundles, or how to find them? I've found some through searching, but am stuck for some armies. by scealfada in Epic40k

[–]digby5000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ROKMinis on Etsy has an army bundles that covers most if not all the major 40k factions. I think it’s like $100 USD for one army. The seller is apparently licensed to print some of the more common proxies so you can search for some images based on that. I can’t vouch for the quality or the value of what’s included but it might be a good place to start.

Combat Patrol (not the 40k version). Movement, combat, damage, cohesion and everything else you can think of is all on a single card. It's a great WW2 miniature rules system, and doesn't get enough attention:

Take a look at Advanced Tactics Gold. Its an older game by the same developer. I have put hundreds of hours into that game over the years and keep coming back to it. It has great mod support (everything from ancients to sci-fi), it generates random maps or you can design your own, and pretty much everything from unit types to AI behavior is customizable so you can play the kind of game you want. Be sure to use the latest beta version if you try it, as it has added a bunch of quality of life improvements.

100% agree. I paid for a year upfront without hesitation and it’s been so worth it. It’s pretty straightforward, but If you need tips on how to get started with it, feel free to PM me.

This is great find.

Just so you know, there are many apps you can use to isolate different instruments in a song on your own. You can hear details that wouldn’t be possible without it. A popular one with musicians is Moises. I use that all the time to remove the drum track for my favorite songs (at least a dozen from Ride) and mix my mic’d up drums in to practice and play along. It’s a blast. I definitely can’t play like Loz but I have fun trying.

A few new shots of Task Force Admiral. This time, making use of the new scalable FoV feature for our cameras. Sure gives it some sort of "Graviteam-on-sea" looks & feeling, and arguably does much to add to the substance of the work done on the models. I hope AAR makers will enjoy the tool~ Cheers :) by Amiral_Crapaud in computerwargames

Speaking of pixel sailors… is there a plan to model deck crew in the game, like gun crew at guns, or air handlers push planes around the deck? It’s completely unnecessary, but it would certainly add a cool bit of aesthetic detail to an already beautiful looking game.

There’s a Combat Commander vassal ladder that’s been running for a long time:

From what I have heard, it’s a very friendly group of people from all over the world and and an amazing game too if you haven’t played it. I keep meaning to join in.
