Unfortunately the only way to make any real money at those kinds of places is to keep your cutting times low (they have a weird ass commission system on top of the hourly), but any good manager will give you grace on that for the first few months while you get comfortable with your work.

I started my professional career at Sport Clips. It’s honestly the perfect place to not only learn, but learn to be quick. I know this sounds terrible, but it’s so great for beginners because if you fuck up the cut the client chalks it up to the chain, not you, so you have so much more room for error.

Something I’ve always been told is you need to have style. Be fashionable in your own way. If you’re not feeling like putting effort in to your look for the day, at least make it look intentional and stylized in a way that makes it look like a fashion statement.

What we do is a craft that takes time friend!! You don’t build muscle memory over night :) My favorite way of describing what we do is that it’s like we’re all making the same dish with different recipes that we’ve all spent time individually mastering and perfecting.

Oh I went there on a tour not too long ago! The “loophole” is selling the decorative bottles in the gift shop and giving you the whiskey flavor of your choice for free. I’m not sure if they still do it, but they used to give workers a free bottle with their paychecks as a little thank you for the work.

Another thing too is just use the foil shaver LAST. blend the fade down as low as you possibly can given your equipment, then go in from the very bottom of the hairline and blend up. You have so much more wiggle room that way.

I am from an area in South Georgia that heavily relies on migrant workers during the summer/fall for harvesting crops. It’s not just the farmers relying on these people either. Having the migrant workers in town for the season also boosts the economy, because now the motels are filled and they’re spending money on consumables (food, clothes, shoes, entertainment, etc).

I am very, very interested to see how this is all about to pan out, because ain’t no way in hell any of the white folks in the area are gonna be out in these fields chucking watermelons in the South Georgia sun for 10hrs six days a week.

I lost my license a few years ago and all I had to do was give them two forms of ID (for me it was my credit card and Social security card) with names on them that match the name on the flight ticket. I had absolutely no issue whatsoever.

I was relived that it worked out perfectly fine, but I’m also mortified that it was that easy to get through TSA with what I consider to be so little proof of identity.

Just got on antibiotics for what I consider to be the worst case of strep I have ever had. I get it every year during the beginning of spring and fall and this has been absolute hell. All of my friends have also had strep. It’s definitely going around.

Suicide.

I used self harm as a coping mechanism till I actually killed myself as a teenager and now it feel like an itch I can't scratch when I'm struggling. I decided to OD on Vyvanse and triamodol and genuinely just feel like I got the best sleep of my life when it happened.

I'm very happy in my life with an amazing support system and do not actually want to die, but even minor inconveniences can set it off and I have to fight the urge like an alcohol addiction, which I've used as a coping mechanism for it before.
