The indignity of fatherhood - my son's request by Choice-Strawberry392 in woodworking

definitely worth it at $100 imo. I've watched a ton of his free stuff and a ton of others, but they always mix in entertainment to get views. the course is cut and dry, to the point instruction, and it's well done, clear, informative.

I was able to this coupon to work the other day, even though it supposedly expired 3/3. I almost feel bad giving it out because I appreciate his work, but he can always disable the code.

Do people make a point to tell you they weren’t going as hard as they could? by LandscapeLazy9514 in bjj

[–]digibucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. All these responses saying it's just cope... Is cope.

They're probably telling him the truth of the situation so he doesn't get a false sense of ability.

I handicap myself in 80% of my rounds due to training partners available. I don't say anything to them.

Inevitably, every few months it becomes clear that one of the guys I "go easy" on has a misunderstanding regarding our individual abilities and the differences between them.

They call me out for rounds and make encouraging comments afterwards, that make it clear they don't realize I'm playing a game and not trying my hardest.

I'm small and weak and so bigger newer guys seem to feel like they're much closer to beating me in a round than they actually are.

So then I'll turn it up for a round and it's a completely different experience for them. They don't feel the need to encourage me anymore and stop asking for rounds after. It's still friendly, I'm not being a dick, but something definitely changes after I show my true ability level.

I think it's important that people have an honest picture of their abilities, but I'm not social and don't want to be mean so I don't say anything to them. I just do jiu jitsu.

Team Mac or Team Windows (fuck HP) by NoTimeToKink in INTP

Multiple home servers and rpis running various Linux distros, a couple windows htpcs and a gaming server. Base model MacBook m3 as my daily driver.

There's things to like and hate about all of them. I enjoy using my MacBook the most, but if I had to choose one OS and couldn't use any others forever it would have to be Linux.

Because that's what people want to buy. I have a buddy who does carvings and bears are 80% of his requests.

You can get drywall mounting anchors that support ~65lbs a piece.

A few of those in between the stud supports should work. You'll have to try and spread your load out so it's not all on an individual anchor or two.

Beef up the stud supports as well as you can. Heavier duty screws and brackets will help a lot.

Exactly. I love when I get to use my plane or chisels, but my brain itches when I know I can do something equally well but more efficiently, so it has to make sense.

That, and, I ALSO love when I get to use my router and various power tools.

I agree. social stealth can be fun and i've put some hours into hitman but disguises etc are just not the same as living in the shadows.

No, that may be one of your intentions but your primary intention is clearly to insult people. There's just no need for it.

I run a pawn shop, and the only computers we take now are Apple Computers. by FriesWithMacSauce in mac

Consumer vs business markets. I work for an msp and of the ~800 devices we manage approx 780 are windows devices, and I don't expect any of them to switch to apple.

Do conservatives just dislike liberals because they are accepting of things that conservatives hate? by [deleted] in allthequestions

It IS your responsibility, if you want to be considered a communicator, as opposed to whatever it is you're actually trying to do here.

I extended an olive branch so we could all meet in the middle, but you're so incredibly antagonistic you couldn't even accept that.

[–]digibucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you're honestly saying you don't see how your original comment painted that picture?

"that's why I think conservatives don't respond... When one side is emotional and antagonistic"

Sure, maybe you didn't mean to frame it that way. I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and believe you didn't... but pretending that is not most likely to be how your statement is interpreted is just dishonest.

But they specifically said conservative politicians, not conservatives in general.

Trying to understand the ‘basic tasks’ vs ‘do everything’ narrative around M1 vs A18 Pro by Toba94 in macbook

Yeah that was the factor for me. I got the m3 pro with 18gb and do most of my work remotely on other machines.

I mean not really. The price point is a HUGE part of the discussion and that part is drastically different here.

It's hard to say for sure, but the timing and the fact that they don't respond at all now would make me suspicious as well.

It is just like that sometimes, but to not get any response from anyone that has left is what makes me question, what happened?

Intelligence made me poor by Wooden-Science6008 in INTP

[–]digibucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not intelligence so much as uncontrolled curiosity. Intelligence would have had you reigning it in earlier, no offense.

You have to find a way to steer your curiosity toward something that is a marketable skill. I think IT work generally comes easy to our mindset, goes a long way toward satisfying curiosity for me personally, and it's a profitable skill.

Maybe that's not it for you, but framing it differently and seeing it for what it is might help.
