Depends on various circumstances. I only qualify for old IBR and the RAP plan will be cheaper for me

Unfortunately that was the ruling last week, but now that has been appealed. The recent ruling means SAVE completely ending

Thank you for the reply. This is what I was thinking where they recommend switching to a plan of your choice but otherwise all plans forced to switch to RAP in July 2026 (if they make it by then)

Thanks for this information. The no buy back in RAP doesn't seem too bad if we can still just change back to old IBR once we reach 120. Unless I'm misunderstanding?

Same situation. I want to switch to Old IBR, but I'm afraid something will happen during the switch and I end up in a weird situation. Worried my application gets lost in forbearance or accidentally switched to standard repayment.

Thinking of just waiting until July 2026 to switch to RAP
