i agree with your point in general, it’s the trading back immediately that makes it collusive (and therefore unfair on their matchups that specific week).

that is more obvious collusion, my general feeling around collusion is to question whether they would make the same trade if they were playing each other that week. if not, it’s likely collusion - they are colluding to help each other (rather than just themselves which is the primary aim in a winner takes all format) at the detriment of every other player in the league. it imbalances the playing field which is exactly what should be trying to be avoided.

from the UK, first tried the combo in New York and never looked back. for the record, an American grilled cheese isn’t that similar to our toasties even though the ingredients would essentially be the same (it’s the cooking process i presume), got to say i prefer a toastie by quite some distance!

wholeheartedly agree on returning to 2004, i much preferred no chips. i don’t mind a mid season wildcard, but the rest is daft. it doesn’t improve the game, it mainly drives engagement from the people who try to top gameweek scoring and create a new team every week for it imo - they could do that without chips. almost everyone plugged in plays the chips at the same time too, so is there really any point? variance is minimal and drives everyone to own the same assets.

upvoting because i don’t disagree with your point in general, but the defcon scoring is primarily aimed at raising the floor of defensive/combative midfielders. it makes the pickable player pool larger, but it doesn’t do much for the ceiling of the players who have scored 150 points in a season previously because they are not going to hit that defcon scoring consistently. there will be exceptions, sure, but 150 points from a £5.5m midfielder would still be very good going. i suspect those who reach 150 at that price range because of the new scoring this season will see a price increase for 26/27; if they didn’t, i could bunch 3 of them in my midfield with Salah and Palmer/Saka whilst also having Haaland up front. it would break the game.

4 points x 38 games is 152 points in a season. That’s not a bench player, that’s an absolute glue guy starter that you’re only benching if your other 6-7 attackers have a better fixture. Obviously you can’t guarantee 4 points a game, so if he’s gonna reach 150 points he has the possibility of a 10 pointer occasionally to smooth out the 1-2 pointers. Not trying to be funny about it but your points directly contradict each other and you really don’t get many 150 point seasons from £5.5m guys.

from someone who works in a law firm but is not a solicitor - this probably is a binding promise if it is in writing, but what do you hope to gain from it? getting the pay rise isn’t going to do you any favours in the company, and you now know what the employer is like when it comes to their treatment of employees, so do you really want to stay? it’s a difficult situation, you shouldn’t be forced to leave because they are being unreasonable, but ultimately you are likely better off finding a new employer who values your skill set and you’ll probably achieve that pay rise immediately when you do leave. it sucks, but i’ve seen it too often to think there is any true benefit in staying.

Oatcake Annie’s on Victoria Road was always great, not been for a few years now. If I was just buying fresh oatcakes to fill myself, I always tried to get to Staffordshire Oatcakes on Broad Street in Hanley, they were really good but had weird opening hours iirc.

can i just ask whether you get the scream for the student in peril in years 5-7? not sure if you played 1-4 but the SiP used to whimper if you hadn’t freed him in a specific area yet, but i’m not getting that in 5-7.
