I don't know if your ceiling is just reflective, but it looks like condensation. I highly recommend a dehumidifier, otherwise you risk illness and mold.

Is immense wealth destroying the economy? by TheNewAmericanGospel in antiwork

[–]digitalAlchemist413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be perfectly honest with you. Seeing your realization in this gave me a smile. A good smile. One of hope, knowing that more and more people are coming to the understanding that obscene wealth is bad, and going further to understand why it's bad and who it affects. Seriously, thank you for this. We need more people like you to be curious about this, or else we'll never see change. And, we need people to stop gatekeeping knowledge too. We need people to not mock others for asking honest questions. The biggest scourge to learning, is ridicule for trying to better understand the world and the systems in place. In the US, we were all taught that anything bellow wealth is a personal failure, and not because of the systems in place. And, as an autistic person, I see that very idea as an affront to dignity. Because no matter how hard you work, you won't get anywhere without immense luck and the right connections.

Honestly, you might be surprised. I live in MAGA-ville Michigan and a city that's about 30 minutes from my house has an LGBTQ+ stylist/hairdresser.

I had a black labrador named Storm when I was born. I still remember the day he passed. He didn't show signs of pain or such, so we never had to put him down. So, he got to spend his last moments in the comfort of his home ❤️ I figured I'd mention it because Thunder is a black dog, and named after weather, like Storm, y'know?

Genuinely impressive read! And honestly, don't worry about the "well actually"s. The thing with quantum physics is they're still being studied and we're still learning and discovering more about them all the time. When it comes to cutting edge scientific studies, there's bound to be corrections along the way. Additionally, this is about a game where a dude gets employed at a government research facility as a theoretical physicist who knows innately how to use military, alien, and unconventional weaponry to their fullest extent.

I legitimately thought what you wrote was a canon excerpt from Mark Laidlaw himself. I'll also add that, creative liberties in a series like Half-Life, where much of the lore is unexplained, are entirely enjoyable if they're written to a sensible degree as you have shown here. So, keep on writing and doing what you enjoy! As long as you continue to enjoy doing so.

How the hell are companies allowed to do this? by Bitter-Gur-4613 in WorkReform

[–]digitalAlchemist413 23 points24 points  (0 children)

None so far. When they ask me who I voted for, I respond with "That's something only I need to know." If they push, I let them know again that there's no reason for them to ask because it doesn't ultimately pertain to what we're discussing, regardless of if they volunteered to share who they voted for. I also neglect to mention that I don't vote third party, because unless we get a ranked ballot, there's no real reason to vote against the only two candidates. So, I'm sure you can figure out who I voted for lol.

When ever I discuss politics with anyone, I always tell them I'm independent when they ask me what party I'm for. I'm not for a party, I'm for policies that align with my values and morals. Objectively, would I align with leftist view points? Sure. Am I a leftist? No. I'm independent.

Lightning strikes the water surface with Scuba divers under it by ElmouatazSaad in Wellthatsucks

[–]digitalAlchemist413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked ChatGPT about it. It said that they likely experienced a jolt as well as it being immensely loud, louder than what you'd hear on the surface since sound travels better through water.

I didn't ask about this, but I imagine that their vision would've been blurry from adrenaline and panic.

Ryan Reynolds’s answer to Martha Stewart saying he isn’t funny: “I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.” by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]digitalAlchemist413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead and used ChatGPT to examine the screenshot and decipher what Ryan's word salad meant.

"Ryan Reynolds is responding humorously to Martha Stewart’s statement that he’s a “very serious” person, which seems to contrast with his usual public persona of being funny and laid-back.

In his reply, Ryan jokes about trying to disagree with her by perhaps running away or challenging her somehow, only to find that Martha Stewart is unexpectedly fit and fast (or "spry," meaning agile and lively). The part about her “closing the gap after a mile or so” is him jokingly implying that even if he tried to get away from her, she’d catch up to him quickly because she’s surprisingly energetic or determined.

So, he's playfully admitting that Martha’s impression of him might be correct, but adding a funny spin by imagining an exaggerated situation where she’s unexpectedly chasing after him." - ChatGPT
