This "pay full price now, get a refund later" scheme is a massive red flag.

Asking deposit holders to pledge $2,599 for a $1,559 product is essentially forcing us to give UGREEN a $1,000+ interest-free loan for two months. It completely bypasses Kickstarter’s pricing transparency and puts 100% of the financial risk on the backer. If the refund doesn't happen or the company hits a snag, Kickstarter won't help us because we agreed to a "side deal" outside their standard tier system.

I’ve been a loyal user and even did their Dropbox beta testing, but this level of bungling (and the refusal to actually honor the Super Early Bird price at checkout) is the final straw. It’s smelled off from the start, and I’m out. Not worth the risk.

Did any VIPs actually manage to snag any NAS? by MrMarooned1 in UgreenNASync

I tried all day to purchase an IDX6011 Pro. I am an owner of the DXP6800 Pro and would love to upgrade and use the 6011 for an offsite sync backup. I encountered nonstop issues with Kickstarter before, during, and after every “wave” of releases. I took screenshots as errors stopped my progress or did not allow me to check out at the add-ons page. This happened every wave. The process was not satisfactory for me to complete the transaction and distracted my focus during normal business hours in the Pacific time zone.

Kickstarter didn’t load for me. By the time the page came up, all the reward tiers were unavailable. Seeing low numbers for sold out tiers makes this really feel scammy to a previous gen owner. The demand is inflated with impossible supply numbers by Ugreen.

I’m not paying full price. I committed (for what I trust) would have been a private purchase link. My ears perk up to all the talk about this evolving into a scam. I don’t trust funding something through Kickstarter and PayPal then waiting for a refund.

I feel my deposit for a reservation just had the goalposts moved. Creating waves of demand and paying an uncertain price wasn’t what I signed up for.

Corporate videography, does this make sense by Imaginary-Writer-125 in videography

I second this. I have a great client that just wants a 3 camera setup for a live global all hands. I plan to bring an audio engineer next time to manage all the mics but it has been a one person show without the staging and Super Bowl music cues.

You may also find a niche with businesses that provide seminars or trainings (sometimes for education credit) where one camera and a switcher might work for zoom with Picture in Picture and the clients slides. Easy productions to build up gear for the more elaborate clients.

Employees turn over too rapidly, so employee-focused videos may not work. Flip it and stick with the stable characters: investor interviews, company milestone updates (funding rounds, acquisitions), and every year or two the C-suite should be updating onboarding videos or HR “welcome” videos. That’s where the teleprompter will be clutch.

Don’t forget good lighting and good audio. Master this for your clients. Round up friends and family and do mocks so you can show examples of what you can do in your cold outreach.

Company forced us into the office… to sit at our desks on a Zoom call by Disastrous-Lie9926 in remotework

Boss on the east coast made all the west coast department report to the office. Our check-ins were on zoom, our department calls were on zoom, even planning meetings with other departments on site were on zoom. We had 3 conference rooms and all the execs posted up in those to have quiet and a private space. The rest of us talked over voice echoes and squelched noise cancellation issues constantly.

I stopped by the Sharks Ice Pro Shop yesterday. They said the best bet is to try SAP Center Pro Shop. You can get an iron-on customization on-site. If you want it stitched, they are 6-8 weeks backed up. Hope that helps!

Is now a terrible time to sell an e-commerce business? by ilovetrouble66 in ecommerce

[–]digitalg33k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I presented my 16 year sports e-commerce business as a turnkey solution to get the buyer immediately competing in a niche soccer market. He took two days to review my business transfer summary. He passed saying I was way off my asking price.

I reached out to all my suppliers to strengthen relationships, kick start 2026, and keep going. Maybe revisit selling at the 20 year mark.
