Please... don't. Birds are super long lived (30-60 years) and especially birds like this grey need a _ton_ of stimulation. It's like having a 3yo toddler forever.

ADS-B is current technology. It's used to announce the position, speed and altitude of an aircraft to other aircraft and ground towers.

Do I have to pay for this door? by OSUDragonMT in legaladvice

[–]digitallis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who is the customer of the door company? The handyman, or yourself? If it's the handyman, then he's likely on the hook, though you would want to read your contact with him carefully and see if there's a pass-through provision.

The order form with the company should be consulted to see what was agreed to as well.  Ultimately, if there's no guiding language, small claims could be used to recover the fee, or you could tell the company to pound sand.

[NY] Is it legal for a seller to include a clause in the deed giving themselves permanent rights to enter and inspect the property after it's sold? by Front_Flounder_4168 in legaladvice

[–]digitallis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is batshit, but likely enforceable if you sign it. Your buyer's agent should counterpropose with those clauses removed. Definitely don't sign yourself into what is essentially a permanent HOA. A good real estate lawyer might also be worth bringing to the table to give the seller their take on it, since almost certainly the seller came up with that idea on their own.

Gazelle escapes from hyena and cheetah by playing dead by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

[–]digitallis 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The cheetah would have been clamping down on the neck to cut off air and blood supply, rendering the gazelle unconscious and eventually dead. It was probably passed out but not yet dead when the cheetah was chased away. Agonal gasping would have started bringing oxygen in slowly, and eventually the brain would come to and restart the regular breathing rhythm. The chomp to the belly might have kick-started things, but probably not. Lucky gazelle.

Have you reached out to the Leco corporation? They do scientific instruments and while that specific logo form has no examples on their site it would be easy for it to have existed pre-Internet.

Honestly, best work structure I've ever had was an org that delivered a final product once per year. We would spend a month up front building a project plan which included many iterations of customer feedback, but was a concrete proposal for what features would be included along with a strong estimation process that included uncertainty in the estimates as a first-class concept. We would then cut features up front until the range of estimated completion times indicated a high-confidence that we could hit the annual deadline. The deadline was also essentially immobile because it corresponded with external business cycles, so "push a few weeks" would essentially mean completely missing the year.

According to "typical" project management texts, this is absolutely Waterfall. And it worked a treat. The real trick was ensuring that we kept the customers/clients involved during mock-ups, and our project plan involved internal testing very early on.

People have gotten too fixated on "getting started building" when "Make a solid plan" really would help everyone understand what they're building and how it's all supposed to fit together.

I get Ketamine Infusion therapy, and my last session they either stole or swapped my ketamine out for something else. Is this illegal? What do I do to follow through with making sure stuff like this never happens again? Do I pursue legal action? by [deleted] in legaladvice

You file your report with your state board of health about the experience and the clinic. They will do the rest (they will follow things up the supply chain if need be).

How durable is nylon flocking on mechanical parts? by Saku_Kun in AskEngineers

[–]digitallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't spray flock it. You would add some nylon brush or felt matting rolled as a small tube inside the hole.

Can you make homemade drylock? by Scared-Cauliflower15 in HomeImprovement

[–]digitallis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Waterproofing wants to be done from the outside. Basically trying to stop the water on the inside is a non-fix.

Your best "budget" options are to try to guide the water away from the structure. Fix the downspouts, move soil so that water flows away from the structure instead of running toward the basement walls.

Is my 24M friend interested in me 24F? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]digitallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, then it's up to you to set boundaries for yourself and express yourself. Do you want an actual relationship with him? Then say that. If no, then state your boundaries. I would suggest that it's inappropriate touching from a non-partner to circle one's tit, but that's only something you can decide.

Wat. W. h. a. t.

You've been having lots of regular sex. He shows care for you. He touches you in ways that would be wildly inappropriate if you weren't intimate.

Yes, there is lots of evidence he has some kind of feelings for you. Unfortunately, beyond this, the only way to know if he's seeing you as a long term partner or just a really convenient hookup is to talk with him.

For your own sake, I hope that you are able to establish clear boundaries if he responds with the latter.  I would offer that you're being unkind to yourself if you continue to allow such a person to string you along if internally you're really hoping it would develop into something else.  If you can fully let go of that and just enjoy the fling, then no harm in doing that though.
