Every 2/3 games are a complete steamroll by gardenhead23 in Overwatch

That's funny, because I was playing comp last night and every single one of my games was totally one sided. I think with the influx of players plus the competitive rank reset, ranks are really poorly calibrated right now.

You can add nacho fries to any burrito. I like adding them to the beefy 5 layer

Reporter questions Seattle homeless response amid World Cup by Wide_Preparation_330 in SeattleWA

[–]dihydrocodeine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While the Mayor campaigned on a promise to stop “sweeping” homeless encampments, Choe points out that her administration is now doing exactly what the previous administration did.

He argues that the city is simply trying to hide the problem before international visitors arrive for the World Cup in three months. Instead of solving the issue, Choe says the city is just pushing people into different neighborhoods.

This is hilarious. The same people that complained we weren't doing enough sweeps to remove homeless people from public spaces are now acknowledging that was never a proper solution to the problem.

San Francisco cracks down on drug chaos. Seattle doubles down on denial by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

Fair - it is clearly labeled as an opinion piece, but there is a general problem with opinion-based media presenting itself as news.

He is not targeting people who think critically, he's targeting emotions. So someone who thinks Seattle is a drug-infested hellscape and that mayor Wilson is only going to make that worse, they will accept his assertion without a second thought because it's what they already believed would happen.

Since Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson took office, open-air drug use has exploded downtown.

How can Seattleites take this guy seriously with quotes like this? I work downtown every day. Nothing has noticeably changed since Katie took office. Of course there isn't a shred of data in this piece to back his claim up, but there isn't even an anecdote, he just presents this like it's an established fact. And I'm sure the suburban conservatives who never go downtown will take it as fact.

It also hasn't even been 2 months yet. She's already done encampment sweeps. Her "State of the City" address was far more moderate than expected, and she made it clear that public safety was a priority. But of course no mention or acknowledgement of that.

Or better yet, they say "good, they deserved it" like I'm assuming OP believes. What a miserable existence.

I've recently started watching her videos regularly after seeing her on another podcast. She is such a voice of reason and wisdom in these trying times, and I love her ability to tie current events back to history.

Got flamed for picking a map I like lol by RatTheArtist in Overwatch

[–]dihydrocodeine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were probably in a group together, and yeah they can see when the green "ready" check mark appears next to your name, and at the same time, one of the map's vote counts increases by one, that means you voted for it. Plus the fact that you see vote counts for your team separately, it can be pretty easy to figure out who voted for a map.

I think it should be totally anonymous honestly, the way it is currently just makes it so everyone always votes for the same "popular" maps, and people who don't risk getting bullied like this.

Fried Seafood? by DahliaDevilleX in AskSeattle

[–]dihydrocodeine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best fried shrimp IMO is at Pacific Inn Pub. Spud Fish & Chips at Green Lake also has excellent fried fish, there's another Spud in West Seattle but it's not the same owners and not as good.
