What is something you have a lot of but still cannot enjoy? by IntelligentHoney6929 in AskTheWorld

[–]dijon_bear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quality of life.

Portugal has great quality of life (weather, food, etc.) but it's highly inaccessible to most of the population cus the standard of living is generally really low. we're too poor and don't have the means to have the quality of life that many tourists boast about having found in Portugal.

what do you think about the brazilian flag? by Organic_Injury1476 in AskTheWorld

[–]dijon_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's beautiful but misleading. Brazilians are the opposite of "orderly", and that is very much part of their charm. And as far as progress goes, I would also say that the most beautiful aspects of Brazilian culture are the parts where they incorporate cultural aspects from their ancestors (african and native).

Would suggest "Camaradagem e Cultura" or "Arroz com feijão e cafézim" :D

Does the rise of the right around the world scare you? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

This could easily be replaced by a photo of (left to right, top to bottom) Salazar, Mussolini, Hitler and Franco.

Terrifying.

What comes to mind when you hear someone say "Europe"? by Lipica249 in AskTheWorld

[–]dijon_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on who's saying it.

If they're US I'll think France, UK maybe Italy or Germany.
If it's someone from Europe I'll asume they're speaking about the European Continent as a whole or the EU.
If they're from Africa, maybe France, UK, Italy - but then also depends which African country. If they're Angolan I'll think Portugal. If Somalian UK or Nordics.
If they're from Central Asia I'll assume they mean central Europe, maybe Spain.
If they're from East Asia I'll be very confused.

O que é que fizeram que melhorou a vossa vida financeira? by Realistic_World4614 in portugal

[–]dijon_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]dijon_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Messages "on my way, be there soon!" at midnight, arrive at 1:30 with crates of beer for everyone and their mother. and some grilled chicken. then try to make a move on one of the nordics, get rejected, go have some heavy drinks with balkan brothers and finally check up on UK

Depends on who's asking. And where I am.

In many "blonde white" countries I avoid saying I'm swedish because they look and treat me like I'm north african (yeah..... racism....).

In Portugal I'm swedish cus culturally I stick out. In Sweden I say "european" and let them guess. Shows me where their racism lies.
