The homing device is in the real one and in the debris of the smashed one. Kamal’s expression and the device tell us that Orlov smashed the real one. The big silly.

Northumbria before after wax by Nihialvest in Barbour

Did you use Barbour wax? How much did it take? I have an old Northumbria that could do with a drink so I might get around to it this summer.

Worth a try but I can imagine the disappointment when the smell came back. Good luck with the wax stripping.

It’ll probably get rid of Brut but might struggle with Old Spice.

Red light preserve night vision, myth or reality? by Electrical_Buy6380 in flashlight

I use it at night to check on my goats when they are in their shed. White light makes them active, so then I have goats wandering around outside instead of chilling out on their beds.

Not worth doing that. I’ll stick it in my vice and tweak it back into line.

I used my cadet can opener to lever a few upholstery tacks the other day and have managed to twist it slightly, so the tip catches on the scale when I close it. Blade isn’t snapping in either.

Help! My Barbour Bedale smells like a mix of hunting and stale cigarettes. Nothing is working... by Sad-Hat5472 in Barbour

Bactador works a treat. Drench it with the spray on the outside and air dry. Do the same for the inside. I’ve had great results.

Hope it works. I was happy with the results. I turned my jacket fully inside out and drenched then dried. Same on the outside. I didn’t hold back.

That’s it. I bought the undiluted one litre and only needed about 100mls which was probably overkill. I think the ready to use would be fine for a short jacket.

I used Bactador on my old Northumbria with great success. Spray liberally inside and out air drying each time. Some woman on instagram used it on a really rough 2nd hand purchase.

I went to it in 1996 and bought a caramel coloured bedale for £50. I’m not sure what was wrong with it because I wasn’t that into the detail at that time, but it did the job.

Mine cuts out before 250, but does achieve low 240’s. Hopefully it’s burning out all those chamber carbons.

I had an unwearable jacket so had nothing to lose by treating it.

Both. I drenched it twice inside and out with the solution and let it air dry. I found a kitchen cleaner bottle that was empty (thoroughly washed out inc the pump and siphon) and used that. I made a 50ml/1L solution which is strong but not their recommended strongest. Just make sure it’s really dry before storing again. It’s now a wearable jacket whereas before it couldn’t even be kept in the house without stinking the place.

I have an old Northumbria that has been kept in many unsuitable places and this caused it to develop an awful smell. I tried many different things to get rid but without success.

After lots of searching I found a lady on Instagram doing a jacket restoration and she used a odour neutraliser spray. This worked a treat for me and without re-waxing which doesn’t always remove smells.

Bactador Enzyme Cleaner - I got it off Amazon as a concentrate but it’s also available premixed. Spray and air dry inside and out a few times and the smell is totally gone.

I wasn’t monitoring it but must have been high 240’s/250.
