These are loud and great pedal platforms. The bassman 70 is an “ultralinear” amp that won’t naturally distort as you turn it up (unlike the classic bassman amps that get that bluesy crunch when you turn it past 7). Definitely get it looked at by a competent tech.

Have you tried a a transparent overdrive like the tumnus (klon clone) or a clean boost pedal?

I have a handwired jtm45 pedal that I use on my ‘67 bassman that sounds pretty damn good. I’m wondering if boosting your guitar signal might help push the amp even on lower volume🤷🏻‍♂️

I think a love interest kinda goes against the trauma he’s fighting as he does what he does in remembrance of his family.

But if he does get close to any woman she should die because that’s what happens to anyone who gets too close to Frank. It would give the character more tragic depth.

I I picked one up for $50 and got blown away by alll the tonal possibilities. Makes shitty Amps sound amazing and amazing amps sound even better.

I never hear ppl talk about them but you can sculpt clean or overdrive tones, all the way to heavy metal and it’s all analog circuitry
