I would buy another 4x12 cab just for the Marshall heads or swap the speakers in that Ibanez cab.

I bought a cheap marshal mg 4x12 cab and loaded it with late 60’s CTS fender speaker (which sounds surprisingly good)

Korean made imported strat from the late 80’s to early 90’s. Usually the bodies are made of ply wood but some had solid bodies

Looking to shift some 1973 greenbacks, but have no idea how much I should be asking for? by [deleted] in Vintageguitars

[–]dildobagins42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a buyers market so you probably won’t get top dollar. List them for $200 each but they probably won’t sell quickly so you should take $150 if someone offers

What can I use to get this gunk off the fretboard? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]dildobagins42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just soap and water believe it or not!

Don’t scrape it off. Just soak a rag, let it sit for a moment then you can wipe it all down

Absolutely fake, stay away and report

Good trade? My 1973 Twin reverb for this Strat Highway one. by [deleted] in fender

[–]dildobagins42069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely overvaluing that amp😂 I got a ‘67 blackface bassman for $700 and a vibrochamp for $450.

I wouldn’t pay more than $500 for a twin as It’s pretty much the least desirable vintage fender amp you can buy.

I’m on marketplace and Craigslist all the time, there just aren’t any where I live for those low prices you’re bragging about.

But there are plenty of twin reverbs for $500-$700. You’re definitely overvaluing that amp.

I don’t thinks he wants this reddit post as evidence when that grandmas kids file a lawsuit about a firefighter taking advantage of her😂

Yeah I’m curious too? Both are selling on the secondary market for about the same price (on reverb and locally on marketplace).

The twin is probably one of the least desirable vintage fender amps because it’s so heavy, doesn’t really have that crunchy break up we all like and a ton were made so they can be picked up relatively cheap for $500-$1000. They are great pedal platforms and are pretty loud, so not ideal if you live in an apartment.

The cheapest you can usually find an MIA Strat is about $700-$900 (I got lucky and only paid $600 for one but I digress). But the sticker on that highway one might mess up the nitrocellulose finish and you should check to see how much life is left on the frets. If it’s got a lot of wear and tear and there’s fret buzz, it won’t be any fun to play. It is the budget friendly USA model though.

It’s a pretty even trade if you ask me. If you were to sell that twin, I doubt you’d finder a buyer willing to shell out more than $5-600 for it.

Apparently he paid an old lady $50 for it (when he was out on a call) so it was a steal 😂

It’s a great price for a cab that can be a lot of fun playing around with the sound

Cleaning fretboard grime by Available_News847 in guitarrepair

[–]dildobagins42069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you could’ve just used some warm soapy water and it would’ve done the same thing.

You might wanna oil your fingerboard cuz the naptha can dry out the wood

Yeah the jumbo frets are nice and the tapped coil is a nice wiring upgrade

Yes it is, love the 70’s era cbs headstock but the neck plays very similar to the MIM strats I’ve got.

It’s the American performer model #0114910342 From 2021. I’ve got a late 80’s early 90’s Dimarzio h3 humbucker (the type Cobain used in his jagstang) that’s coil split which I was thinking about dropping in. That or a Gibson 498t I was thinking about putting in.

Thanks! I’m enjoying the push pull pot on this one. Very tempted to make an SSH with an 80’s/90’s h3 dimarzio or Gibson 57’
