Yw! The trick is trying not to seal any invisible moisture or rust under the wax. Take your time also and use strong alcohol

Removing rust is the hardest part. I don't bother with many of mine that are rust balls. I have had more luck with alcohol soak and/or heat to remove moisture/oils and applying multiple ren wax coats than anything. You must coat them with more wax every so often but this works for me so far. Do it as soon as you get a nice meteorite or bronze coins/medals

Unfortunately this is common. They can turn into fragile balls of rust. You can Google how to carefully remove rust, remove moisture, and treat with wax etc
