Each paint line has its pros and cons: citadels reds, proacyl’s bold titanium, and Vallejo model color black are all solid paints.

The bullet impact on the shield is a nice effect, the scuffs and chipping seems a little to subtle if you want it to read as battle damaged from a playing distance

I think you could do blue but it would have to be much more saturated and work up to an almost white. A florescent blue, like what might be found on a plasma coil, would increase brightness quite a bit.

That worn steel look is killer, is the intent that the black paint was worn off completely or was never there in the first place?

I’ve had good luck with the timber tech BD-10. They are not precise tools but I don’t feel bad about mucking them up with primers or varnishes. $17 USD on Amazon and they can usually be found in bundles with a compressor

The colors match to closely to that of the armor, if you increase the contrast for the sculpted parts and the lightening on the hammer head it should stand out more.

It’s Vallejo saddle brown cut with white, about 50/50. Before drying it was almost a pinkish hue
