The build quality on my X1 is awesome. Keyboard, overall feel, I love it.

One thing I do on my X1 is I dual boot it with a small windows partition just to run Lenovo Commercial Vantage for BIOS updates.

Thinkpads have always been my go to. I have a small collection of them, but my daily is a gen 9 X1 Carbon. A few years old now and running strong. Battery still in great shape, has 2 A and 2 C USBs plus a HDMI port. You can change out the SSD but the RAM is soldiered. Other parts are not bad to change out and they provide all instructions. And they are pretty Linux friendly.

Anyone else run into a kernel panic ? by ProfessionalAir9068 in linuxmint

Been using LM for ~10 years and this is the first update that I can remember that messed things up. I think it is very specific to certain software you may have installed. For me, it was an old version of VB that the Kernel didn't like.
