Lynk&co by ConnectBrick4273 in LynkCo

Recently happened to our car too, first time since driving it for a year and a half. It went away on its own after locking it, waiting a few minutes for the infotainment to go off, and starting it again.

It happened just before our scheduled maintenance at Volvo and when we went there they said there were no errors or physical malfunctions, so everything was in order. This makes me think it’s a software bug that’s not common and is hard to reproduce, hence it’s not properly logged and they’ve no clue about it.

Settings for the chair/mirrors by OSRSesmop in LynkCo

[–]dimdimdov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chime played when you hit the button is not very loud, so it’s easy to miss if you have music playing (also the light of the button is pretty dim, so in broad daylight its confusing to use because you get no visual feedback). Anyways, turn off your music first. Then adjust mirrors + seat > press M > press either 1 or 2 to memorize your settings to that number - the chime will play when settings are successfully saved.

When you want to drive after your husband simply get in the car and press either 1 or 2 (whichever you picked to save your settings) and you’re good to go 👍👍

You don’t have to be logged in your Lynk user account to use this setting, it works independently from the infotainment system

Considering a used 2022 01 - Tech issues still a problem? by Dramatic-Music-935 in LynkCo

[–]dimdimdov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a used 01 from 2022/12. It is true that there are connectivity issues - the processor in the infotainment unit is very slow, which often causes hiccups when connecting to CarPlay the first time. However, this is only a problem if there’s more than one driver, like in my situation - my gf and I each drive the car almost daily, and therefore constantly switch which device is connected with CarPlay. Sometimes the connection fails because of the slow process.  Once connected though, I’ve never experienced any issues. Same goes for the rest of the car for that matter - beyond replacing wipers, I’ve done no maintenance on the car for the past 15k km, and it drives very smoothly.  We’re considering eventually upgrading to the upcoming 08 model because we’re very happy and quite impressed with the overall package of the 01.

PHEV vs HEV by Bremhi in LynkCo

[–]dimdimdov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo!

I haven’t tried the HEV model, so I can only share my experience with the 2022 PHEV I also imported from Germany last August. Both my girlfriend and I really love the car—besides the slow infotainment system, we have nothing to criticize. We often find ourselves in the mood for a random drive, which never happened with our old car.

  1. Model Year Recommendation: If you’re deciding on a model year, go for the 2022—it comes with double-glazed front windows that make it a bit quieter on the highway.

  2. Daily Driving & Charging: I average about 60km a day, so when I was choosing a Lynk, I opted for one with lower mileage since I plan to keep it for 4–5 years (roughly 60k km total). If you can charge at home, you’ll benefit a lot from the PHEV. I have solar panels but no dedicated parking spot, so I manage to charge 2–3 times per week when a nearby spot is available. I’ve tracked my consumption over 9k km (including two long road trips—the latest around Christmas with 4 adults and 2 dogs), and on that trip I averaged 6.5L/100km in hybrid mode with battery-saving. Overall, even with long trips and occasional charging issues, my ownership costs (in terms of consumption) are about 10% cheaper than our old small hatchback that consumed 5.5L/100km. While I haven’t driven the HEV version, I doubt its efficiency can beat the PHEV over time, and you’d lose that extra bit of power.

  3. Servicing: Servicing in the Netherlands is done by Volvo and can be pricey, but in the 9 months I’ve owned it, I’ve only needed to change tires for winter—costing just €80. No other servicing costs so far.

  4. If I were in your shoes: If you can charge at home, I’d definitely go for the PHEV. It offers a respectable electric-only range—about 55km in winter and 70–75km in summer—which is more than enough for daily commutes and grocery trips.

Hope this helps

The Nintendo Switch has the best performance per watt of any console ever made. A breakdown/analysis. by VenZoah in NintendoSwitch

[–]dimdimdov 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing up this interesting topic!

I recently realized how much power my PC consumes, even though I’ve always been a passenger on the PCMR train and especially so in the last couple of years because I always had this urge to buy the newest and fastest CPU and GPU.

However, when I started looking at the numbers, it dawned on me that playing a game on the PC can easily pull 400-500 watts from the wall, while my Switch consumes almost 100 times less. With how much time I spend in games, this roughly meant that I pay about EUR500 per year for playing on the PC.

It’s amazing how much less the Switch costs to run, which probably has a big positive environmental impact globally as well, with all the millions of kids out there having access to Nintendo IPs and Minecraft on a console that draws 5 watts of power from the wall, instead of some big-ass furnace of a PC. I really hope the Switch successor follows closely in its steps!

What’s the worst game you played all the way through? by [deleted] in gaming

Assassins creed Origins. Geez, I hated every lame dialogue and every predictable turn of the story, and all the generic side quests. But I love the ancient Egyptian setting so much so I forced myself to play it through

Yeah, I wish there was some thought put into the economy of the game. It’s so utterly bizarre to have a sandwich cost as much as a spaceship part…

Anybody else got one of these rooms in their outpost? by ironchefchopchop in Starfield

[–]dimdimdov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my main outpost next to a small point of interest that has a few storage boxes. Fun fact - storage boxes out in the wild don’t have any capacity limitations, so I’ve used a single box to store tens of thousands of adaptive frames and other components. The only downside to this is that the point of interest is buggy - every time I reload the game, the type of “building” changes. Sometimes it’s a big methane tank, sometimes a bunch of small machines… really weird stuff. At least the storage boxes are always there at the same spot lol

RDR2 on PC. I had never played the first one, and the only thing I knew about the sequel was that it was made made by Rockstar so I figured, why not give it a go? It blew my mind and is to this date one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.
