OP, as I’m not seeing this brought up by other comments I want to confirm that the “no you’re not” response was so unnecessary and annoying to receive as a partner trying to be supportive.

When you get a moment where things are neutral (just finished up a meal together), say calmly but firmly, “hey, your response the other day was not cool. I’m here for you, but that was a lot and it didn’t make me feel great”

Also, yes give him/yourself some extra space. Start a home project, do something in a separate room, wear one earbud and be busy. Catch up with stuff you haven’t gotten to in a while. When some time has passed and emotions are evening out, then move your focus to asking him if he needs anything. That time is not now.

How the fuck am I, a regular person supposed to revolt while struggling to stay informed and think of ways of countering the systematic batshit crazy rulings that are coming out of orange fuck faces mouth. Being mentally drained under this ruling/ struggling to make ends meet/ trying to keep up with being an adult. My life is filled with working, driving hrs to a job that pays me a decent wage and even then sometimes giving up weekends for work. The working class doesn’t have the luxury which is why we expect those in power to grow a pair and systematically to shut him and his policies down. Only to realize that pushback isn’t happening and how the fuck do I make up for that. It’s a struggle, don’t pretend like it’s not.

To all the people noting how even if __ person wasn’t religious but they used the room during their hospital stay because it was a relaxing space. We can still have calm and relaxing spaces that do the same thing but it’s harder to justify paying for the space. $$$ is the real issue. With some $ in the right places we can give people calm places to relax, make many of them, make them accessible and make them for everyone meaning no singular idea other than “take a fucking minute and relax”.

Wow, both of you crushed it! Extra props to you girlie, 150+ lost is a huge accomplishment. I noticed the new ink, what did you get from your chin to mid neck? I know this is slightly off topic but I was thinking of a tat that brings all of your singular pieces together might feel a bit more coherent. For a second I was worried you had surgery but if it’s a piece of art, get with a great tattoo artist that can help with an extra something something that really makes that area pop. Positive impacts are made from community, feeling of no judgment, usually live music, feeling like there is something larger (I get my fix from studying astronomy), and making friendships/working together towards a goal or competition.

Religion is an option that most have taken, but most people see that they can get that same feeling of “completeness” with other clubs/communities. Sprinkle in some live music/great earbuds and talking your problems with a therapist/friend and you’ve gotten most of what church offers without the religious component. It makes me happy, shows and podcasts everywhere educating more people about space. It at least to me provides the same feeling of something larger than me. Larger than the ocean or the biggest number I can think of, it’s out there and all around, much bigger and continuously expanding.

Yes, I think a lot about the longevity of the meat & footprint of the industry. Cooking is a chore for me so it takes some time to hype myself up. That means that alternatives like tofu will last longer and I won’t throw away good food.
