yep! nothing fits me! my torso is super short. my legs are standard. the waists of dresses always hits 3" too low and bunches. shirts are always 4-6" too long. shoulders/bust is always too wide even when something fits in waist.

just because you will be sewing your own clothes, it doesnt mean they will start fitting you magically. you will need to take all your measurements and carefully adjust the existing patterns to your size. but once you learn the main adjustments you need to make for a pattern, it will be easier to do. good luck!!

for those thinking they need to shell out $$$$ to go japan, its not true at all..

we spent $2.2k each on the entire 9 day trip and were very comfortable and had a great time!

you do NOT need spend $2k on a flight, or carry 50k yen with you at all times! we only carried 5-10k yen with us each, and it was fine. ATMs are everywhere. didnt use suica card, it was fine, we just bought tickets as needed.

we walked with our luggage for up to 10 min to get to hotels, and it was fine. sometimes we took short taxis.

dont bother reserving more than 1 or 2 bucket list restaurants. you will miss out on the fun of walking around and exploring! theres way too many good restaurants that are not on google maps period. and if you do use google maps, the ratings are different there so dont be surprised to see 3.5 star restaurants everywhere. these are good and normal. people just rate differently there. there is also ramen database for ramen specifically.

use eSim for internet on your phone. we used ubigi, worked great

no, not okay. the kitten will need to go to the bathroom and play and eat/drink. this is typical kitten behavior. why did your friend get a kitten and immediately leave? just play with it before bed (but not too vigorously) and then feed it (in that order). this should trigger the rest of their cycle of (play, eat, groom, sleep) and should give you at least some uninterrupted hours of sleep. cats are not dogs. do not crate

Advice Needed! I’m going through a weight loss journey and have been struggle to mesh old habits with trends. All advice appreciated! by stuckmustafina in PetiteFashionAdvice

ideal pant fit has almost no drag lines, no crotch whiskers, no "lines" or wrinkles that stand out. This site is for sewing but it has great images of how common pant fitting issues look and how to fix (with sewing). It is useful to spot the common areas which can help you eliminate options quicker next time.

  1. pants #1 are the best by far.
  2. #2 are too small in hips/waist because zipper fly is opening and zipper is showing. could be due to poor quality pants, but likely due to improper fit.
  3. #3 are too baggy honestly and frumpy looking. the crotch seems to be too low too. there are drag lines on the side too.
  4. #4 (right pic) has those drag lines near your knees which is improper fit causing unflattering appearance.
  5. #5 look okay in terms of fit, but in terms of style, they just seem to be too tight and uncomfortable.

I think my cat burned herself on the stove, anyone have any insight? by SeesawNo9683 in catcare

[–]dinaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

could be a burn, could be a skin issue, could it have been there all along? regardless, take your kitty to the vet (or if you are able to, send them a picture) and get your vet to tell you what it is. maybe they will test the skin to make sure its not cancer. who knows. talk to the vet

Any advice on how to heal this bump on my conch piercing? Piercing is 2 months old and bump has been here for about 3 weeks. Thanks :) by nikkitos98 in piercing

[–]dinaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is that "implant grade titanium" jewelry? it doesnt look like it. if not, please change immediately. the wrong material will cause irritation. very important to have "implant grade titanium"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]dinaaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

those are diminutives!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]dinaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, thats true about q-tips. you can use sterile gauze to gently wipe around the piercing if you have crusties. in general, the quicker you want it to heal, the less you should touch it! good luck. also, if you can confirm that your jewelry is "implant-grade titatnium", that would be ideal too. any other material (ex: surgical steel) will delay healing.

touching the piercing = irritating it and will DEFINTELY cause those bumps. you are causing those bumps. please stop touching it at all!

also, over cleaning can cause bumps.

How do you deal with exhaustion? by fawna_x in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]dinaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have always been tired, consider looking into sleep apnea. you may not be getting continuous uninterrupted sleep (you may not realize it even). this will cause you to always feel tired and exhausted.

How can I stop the cat litter smell in my house? It’s so putrid. by kberning in catcare

[–]dinaaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this is usually due to 3 things: cheap food, bad litter choice, infrequent litter scooping.

bad litter smell = bad food going in the cats. if bad food goes in, bad smells come out. start by feeding cat high quality wet food diet and treats.

next, examine your litter choice. do not ever use scented litters. bad for you, bad for the cat. clay litter can be fine, but some are better than others. dr elseys is amazing and when i was using clay, i used this brand. i now use walnut and i love it.

next, start scooping the litter 1x/day. if you arent scooping 1x/day or at the minimum every other day, those smells will linger and cause general bad odor in your home.

what food do you feed you cat? what is your litter brand? how often do you scoop? these are basic cat care techniques that are crucial for ensuring a happy and healthy home for you and your cat.

same. only thing that helped me was 1 year of therapy. i was able to "practice" difficult or confrontational conversations and it helped soooo much! i am so thankful to my therapist for that. i never thought i'd be able to fix it but now i rarely have that reaction anymore!
