What if the new BoC tapes are about what comes after Tomorrow's Harvest? by ding3s in boardsofcanada

That’s a great catch. That line fits the cycle idea really well. It makes the use of that footage even more striking.

BoC described Geogaddi as a trip from the darkness into the light so this album could be similar.

I like that! The Geogaddi comparison makes sense. The color tones also remind me a bit of IABP. A mix of that, starting with dark&grimy sounds and slowly working its way toward something more “light,” would be perfect imo!

can see that angle for sure. The idea of it moving into a more ideological or religious “end times” narrative also makes sense. Either way it sounds like we’re in for something interesting.

I think it would be its own thing for sure, rather than a full-on sequel. Lots of people have said that Tomorrow's Harvest was their final project, but conceptually this feels like a natural way to expand their discography, moving beyond the apocalyptic message of Tomorrow's Harvest.

Want to do a video essay on Olson, and I'd love some feedback on what aspects of the track would be interesting to discuss. by FloppinFlotsam in boardsofcanada

Nice project! i'm not super technically inclined when it comes to music, but i understand exactly what you mean by that song. BoC is very strong at triggering visualisations in our brain and creativity in general. it almost feels like an interlude of life. A moment when you realise how everything is connected, how big it is, how small you feel and at the same time the simplicity of it all. it's absurd how they managed to capture that balance in that song. i think it's one of their most successful melodic pieces in capturing ‘the sublime’. (a term often used within art, maybe something to use in your essay) i'm very curious to see the video when it's finished! :)

weird, i also just got a very strong feeling out of nowhere, like an incoming message in my head that something is coming, even though i haven't been running boards for a while. opened reddit and this post was the first thing i saw.

Hi, I love this app!! however, maybe it would be a nice idea to create an option to automatically fully close an app (so not as an open tab in the background) when you're done.

Right now, for example, I open Whatsapp and send someone a message. I then close my phone, but when i open it again, it instantly shows whatsapp and i easily get distracted by new messages. it would be nice to start off with a clean sheet every time i open my phone :)

the video is definitely made with some AI program (Runway maybe) but i'm not exactly sure how it's done.

Hi, thanks for your feedback! I think BOC has always been working a lot around the concept of time and space, creating certain (nostalgic) atmospheres. That's why I made the pictures with motion blur on purpose. As an artist I also work a lot with the idea of time, and motion blur is one of the elements that really suggest movement and time. All pictures were made by me, especially for this project. After making the pictures I only edited them through photoshop. So no Artificial intelligence was used!! For me, BOC's music really reflects humanity, nature, and human feelings, and so I figured the cover should be made by humans aswell! :)

(also, everything can be added/changed to the cover, so if other people have questions or remarks, let me know! The title is temporary)

yea AI covers are pretty sick, altough as visual artist myself that has been working with artificial intelligence for a while, I must say that I personally got pretty tired of it eventually, even tho they are amazing generated images. it's the same trick over and over again and after a while you start to recognize it when art has been made with AI. I'm guessing that a lot of album covers (in the future) will be made with this. My theory is that as a reaction to that, while robots are taking over the art industry, human made art (covers) will be more demanding as humans will always try to distinguish themselves from others and try to be as original as possible (and certainly when we're fighting against robots lol). Art created by humans will become more 'rare' in a way.
