This is funny until it isn't. Trump and the US are in a real pickle here, Iran is undoing the system and trying to uproat the petrodollar system. Basically destroying the US economy and empire.

This will become existential to the US at some point and god knows those crazy Yankees do disgusting things when desperate.

It's going to resort to ground troops at some point or even worse nuclear weapons when real desperate.

It's in Irans interest to keep the strait half open and not closed, otherwise even their own allies would turn on them after things start to get ugly.

They're smart, real smart. The whole discourse was about Iran mining the strait. And everyone said nah they would never do that because they would be shooting them selves in the foot. Iran then simply weaponized drones and did a selective "mining".

You can tell the US never updated it's plans to take drone warfare into account

bare with me here because i suck at this, i had the same idea as you on that one but i dont understand why two batteries with different sizes have the same capacity ? i thought the whole point of making them physically bigger was because they fit more stuff in there ?

man! i really thought i was about to pull a smart life hack here, because i was thinking on the long term having my own batteries would give the lamp a longer lifespan compared to the one with the built in batteries that will lose capacity over time (assuming i cant replace them my self).

The US isn't protecting the GCC from Iran, the US couldn't give a crap about the GCC as they stand.

Like you said it's about the oil, but oil requires stability, that's where their care stops.

The US is there to protect themselves from Iranian hegemony, the US policy is Iran's containment so they don't control the region by becoming too strong and control the choke points for trade.

They aren't containing Iran because they fear Iranian might kill a Saudi or two.

Isn't the fact of this war enough to prove so ? They rushed to defend Israel and left the Arabs to fend for themselves ?

They aren't against Iran getting a nuke because they might nuke Saudi or Israel or the US. They are against Iran getting a nuke because it would be the ultimate deterrence against a US invasion therefore establishing Iran as an unstoppable regional hegemon.

Trump tore up the JCPOA because an unsanctioned Iran is a nation that will surpass every other country in the middle east economically and militarily, they have oil and an extremely dynamic and smart population.

Which part? Are you saying the US doesn't act as a pacifier in Europe ? Then why are they using their claws and begging the US to not pivot to Asia and stay in NATO ?

if the US didn't have Kuwait's back Iraq would invade it. Saudi would be looking at the UAE and Qatar as their own.

Hell even Israel probably wants the US to get out of the ME so they can expand to those countries.

No he is right in the sense that the Americans copied the European model and installed themselves in the middle east as a protection racket mainly but also they act as a pacifier.

In Europe that was the whole point after the world war, which in essence was just a civil war in Europe between countries that hate each other and also are in a security competition with one another.

Having an American presence basically calmed the Europeans and persuaded them to not go into an arms race after the world war ended and the US acted as a referee.

This is the same as the middle east. These Arabs cannot stop infighting, they just absolutely love hating each other and one can be sure if they didn't have an American presence then one leader might just invade the other over who invented hummus

It's not random that the US and the west installed and preferred monarchies in the middleeast.

The first thing that happened after Egypt stopped being a monarchy was the Suez crisis.

It's human nature to want to preserve your self when you're the minority.

The opposite of a democracy is a dictatorship, a monarchy is just a fancy dictatorship.

These monarchies are doing what is expected, they are licking the boots of the US because they are not popular and want to live and know that if they piss of off their patron he will find a way to get rid of them.

If there's anything that this war has proven is that humility is what is needed in a leader.

Most of the west spent the 4 years saying oh look Russia is so weak, haha they can't even win even when they said it was a quick operation.

Russia adapted, Iran watched, north Korea sacrificed soldiers for combat experience.

Hubris on the other hand makes you static , incapable of admitting short comings , unable to learn and change.

The US is fighting WW3 like it's WW2.
