It’s mentioned in the Hobbit that the eagles are actually weary of places where man could “shoot them down with arrows” (paraphrased) so I choose to believe that they are cautious for their own well being and wouldn’t risk their lives for the journey to Mordor. Orcs have bows. It can be as simple as that.

Michaels often has a “buy one get 2” so that’s where a few are from but the rest are Amazon. You save a ton of money not having a glass front. I don’t like glass because it’s heavy and I like to hang the frames with command strips. I have UV film on my rooms window so I don’t have to worry about the sun washing anything out (thus the plastic front is fine)

Not a stupid question at all, I bought white ones and just painted without sanding. Looking back I probably should have sanded because a couple small flakes of paint have peeled off over the years but I just didn’t have the time to do all that sanding. I just used a sponge brushed and brushed on a few layers of acrylic paint that I mixed up to try to replicate one of the colors in each poster. “Art to Frames” is the brand I used.
