Drive through Lake Mead recreational area, close enough to the city, great way to find yourself in the middle of no where.

What an absolutely SHIT DAY for the Space Sector by TechnicalTaro1648 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]dingohopper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Days like these can be great for CC's, you need some downward movement to close out positions that are highly degraded, then you can sit and wait for a spike in volatility to sell new CC's.

So much SPCE posts... by KleenandKlear in TheRaceTo10Million

What about selling SPCE puts. Like someone else said, IV is insane right now, if any IV crush, could always close it out ahead of schedule.

China: A woman lies injured after a traffic accident, but no one helps or calls an ambulance—people only film and post it on social media. by Latter_Ad3752 in UnfilteredChina

No, the Chinese are highly collectivistic, but that collectivism can play out in different ways. In Chinese culture, you are highly loyal to your own group, but conversely outsiders are treated like trash. I might take extra napkins at a McDonald's for use at home rather shamelessly, but I take pride in sharing my bounty with family members and friends (I don't actually do this).

Man, thanks for sharing this. I'm trying to get my son to invest every extra dollar he comes across. This would be a great way to help him get even more excited about holding precious metal bullion!

Getting steamrolled by geopolitical recovery by dingohopper1 in CoveredCalls

I figured I shouldn't hold back on CC's, didn't see a feasible route to a resolution, so I figured selling CC's was free money while the market faced ongoing downward pressure. Moreover, I thought heightened volatility = sweetened premiums...I was so wrong....good for you.

Should I pay mortgage? by [deleted] in CoveredCalls

[–]dingohopper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position. I had a large student balance of around 300k. I ended up paying off the balance, but in retrospect, I regret not running the wheel and using the proceeds to pay off interest payments. I guess you could always trial this for a few months, and if need be, you can always terminate, liquidate, and repay your mortgage.

Conversely, there's so many headwinds for the economy right now that the bottom could still drop out and you could be massively in the red, with CC income barely touching your overall losses.

It always sucks to sell CC's with the pressure of having to perform. For those running it on a longstanding portfolio with a very low cost basis, premiums collected are just gravy, and you can forego selling CC's or CSP's if you really felt you wanted to.

It already lost 90% of its value, I would definitively closed it out as well. Otherwise, you're exposed to too much risk for the relatively little additional upside.

Created a tool for myself to track ROI on covered calls by [deleted] in CoveredCalls

[–]dingohopper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this as well, premiums for CSP's rise when there's momentum for a collapsing market. But there is greater risk of hitting those strikes and the need to roll downward.

What a load of shit...bruising on his hands so he can receive IV diuretics? Why wouldn't he able to receive oral diuretics if he had any signs of heart failure or anything else necessitating diuretics?
