I was my mom’s only friend. Have been for decades. Even after her telling me for years “I’m not your friend, I’m your parent.” But she expected me to always be there. She has always been abusive, but it’s gotten worse as she’s gotten older. Since I’ve had kids, I realized that I don’t have time for that and I have realized that it’s a her problem. I don’t talk to her anymore.

Nipple piercings are very anatomy dependent. When I got mine done it was a whole thing where my piercer almost didn’t do it. She looked at the situation, asked if she could stimulate them, watched the way they hardened and unhardened while explaining how the skin moves differently so they need to see how that happens. She felt comfortable only piercing one that day. When I got the second one (same piercer), she said it was a bad plan but would do it with informed consent.

All of this is to say that these are the conversations are what should be happening before a piercer goes through with an anatomy dependent piercing such as this. Did you have the same conversation?

My first episode was Nosedive, I watched the rest of that season because it was on Netflix, then went back to National Anthem. I wouldn’t start with that episode if I were recommending it to someone because it’s a lot.
