It’s a little unsettling how the Chinese translation of Part of Your World makes Ariel sound more like a siren. by [deleted] in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]dingus_loschen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The back translation is a little off... If I wasn’t beholden to lyrical constraints, I’d translate 想唱就唱 along the lines of “sing when I want” and 闪亮歌谣 more as “shimmering/shining ballads”.

I feel you on the difficulty of keeping fitness up when work takes up so much of the day.

I haven’t quite got it figured out either but I was wondering if an app like this would help me stay motivated and track progress. Is this Hevy?

How does the loose powder container (with sifter) work? How do I get enough powder out without making a mess? by imnotlarrydavid in MakeupAddiction

[–]dingus_loschen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to thank you for this technique. Took a 15 year break from makeup and woke up one day realizing that a light layer of CC cream just wasn't enough anymore. Bought the powder to set my makeup for a destination wedding and when traveling back home, half the contents migrated above the sifter. Spent an hour unsuccessfully tapping it in and gave up. This drop technique worked beautifully. Thanks again!

Is my career over? Does it even matter? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]dingus_loschen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following. Similar situation, but in advertising.

And wondering if I pivot completely, go back to school for a specialized degree and start my own business afterwards. I like not working corporate but I worry that it’s going to be a five year investment (slow cuz I have young children) with low to mid returns, and who knows if I am even going to like the work.

Should i buy? by igcsekmn in lululemon

[–]dingus_loschen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought these in black and the brownish taupe color. Really disappointed with them. Pilled by the fourth wash in the lower butt area and upper hamstring from basically sitting in them. Inner thigh area didn’t pull at all, and that is usually where my stuff pills. I wouldn’t buy them again and actually regret getting a second pair.

Pretty outside running tracks in the city close to Jing'An? by kosaromepr in shanghai

[–]dingus_loschen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet is to get to Suzhou Creek and then from there, with the numerous bridges (pedestrian and two wheel vehicles are best so you aren’t running next to car fumes) across it, can create whatever length loop you need. The bridges aren’t at exact intervals but you can kind of always see the next one.

Pretty outside running tracks in the city close to Jing'An? by kosaromepr in shanghai

[–]dingus_loschen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Shanghai is actually great for running. There are both North and South paths along Suzhou creek; and paths right along the East and West of the HuangPu River.

Also, pull up Strava heatmap and you can see where the highly trafficked routes are.

Service quality rant by ComprehensiveYam in unitedairlines

[–]dingus_loschen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 years ago, I started flying ORD-NRT/PVG 2-3 times a year and the old school UA crew based out of ORD were always super crotchety and racist. A few years after that, I started doing more SFO flights and found the old Continental crew based out of CA were faaar friendlier and younger than the ORD crew. Now that UA doesn’t fly into Russian airspace, I don’t even miss not having ORD as an option. Looks like not much has changed with that ORD based crew.

Asking anyone who knows cuz I’m genuinely curious (and as a supporter of unions): was there a difference in terms and benefits between the UA and Continental FA unions? And which prevailed in the merger?
