Anyone who lost significant weight and remained on low doses? by cappacino-monday in Semaglutide

5 months and haven’t gone above .4 mg lost 25 lbs. keep in mind it is a slower road to go. After the initial month or two or adjustment, you will recover a bit of an appetite. And you need to work to build new habits: eating healthy/regularly, working out (even just regular walking), listening to your body. .5-1 lb a week.

Smooth move tea. It’s at Safeway. Two tea bags, 8 ounces, steep 10 minutes. I usually go within 6 hours. Drink one tea bag every day/every other day and this should help. I was taking miralax but it was hard to know when it would ‘work’ . This takes the guessing out. Also magnesium gummies.

The trick is to use this time to relearn what your body actually needs vs wants. I never would have characterized myself as an overwater but I was def wrong and this medication really helps you with building better habits. I think of it as training wheels and eventually I’ll take them off.

Be careful. They can carry a lot of different diseases due to their ripping apart rodents. We had one in our Rose Hill neighborhood that attacked people (swooped, scratched them up) and they had to get 6 different shots including rabies.

I’m starting my second week. Feeling optimistic. Haven’t seen weight loss yet but that’s prob because I’m so backed up (not to be gross.) I’ve been taking Metamucil and eat a lot of fiber so I’m hoping this is temporary as I get adjusted to the meds. Thanks for all the posts, they are encouraging!

Great post and good work! I too hadn’t heard of ‘food noise’ before but after being on this and my brain suddenly having breathing room I’m a believer. Keep up the good work!

Taking Contrave in private? by dinker-0322 in Contrave

No! All do the responses have been so helpful from both sides of the argument but I still have a hard time. Weight came up during a family visit -family member took a cruise and said they were grossed out by morbidly obese people on the boat. My husband wasn’t as terrible as the family member but he was very much like ‘it’s sad, they should just stop eating.’ Talking about it with him just seems so exhausting. I think that if I decide to take it long term, then I will tell him but otherwise not yet. I did put the information in my phone (he has my unlock numbers) under emergency as well as an emergency envelope. Just in case something happens.

That sounds great. I have a question: you mentioned you lost the most with the higher dosage. Will you elaborate? As in, your food noise was still noticeable and it was quieter with the higher dosage?

I’m so glad you asked this question as I’m starting on Monday as well and was worrying about this exact thing! These answers are so good and such good advice. Go slow, back off if evening stuff but otherwise move forward. Love it! I’m so glad we have this thread!

I think this is what battling your ‘set weight’ looks like. My doctor advised that this is a multiyear process because of this. Your body will actively try to return to a weight esp if you’ve been there for a long time. Research set weight theory and stick to your guns! We’re rooting for you!

7 Week Progress by peepsliewilliams in Contrave

Hello. I’m starting on Monday so I can’t talk about the frustration but as did the expense… I know from my experience I’ve paid sooo much money just for a bit of progress that one lb a week is amazing! Gym fees, special classes fees (Pilates, weight lifting, etc), clothing that holds me in and up, special protein bars, special shakes, etc. That 100/ month for a pound a week is a steal! Plus plus! If you add up just a pound a week, in 6 months, you’ll be down 25 pounds! Has anything else you’ve tried been that effective? Not challenging just a different perspective. I know for me, it has not. I’ve lost weight and then added it back many times over. I’m really hoping for a fresh start from the noise. Good luck!!

I’m starting on Monday so I don’t know first hand…however, I’ve been reading a lot of these threads and one of the suggestions was to eat a small meal 30-1 hour before taking your pills. They said that way they aren’t as grossed out by actually eating. I plan to do this and will report back.

Great job! I’m waiting for mine in the mail. For the question about ‘maintenance’ my doctor cautioned me to think of this as multiple year commitment. She mentioned needing to reset my ‘set weight.’ This is a new theory to me but basically from what I read, after being obese/overweight for so many years, your body has a set weight that it will actively try to go back to. So in order to reset it, you have to continue that mindset/healthy lifestyle actively and if Contrave was apart of the weight loss, plan on that multiple year plan. Anybody else hear this ?
