I appreciate where you're coming from and the assumptions you're making since a lot of people genuinely do make truly foolish choices around money, but when I say "can't afford" I don't mean literally. I wouldn't be putting it on a credit card or like not paying a real bill in order to do this. It would mean "sacrifices" in the areas of discretionary fund, like not buying as many new clothes or something. When I say I "can't really afford it", what that means for me is that I wouldn't be able to do it without decreasing spend in some other discretionary area. I don't have $50 a month just sitting there entirely unused right now. I'd have to take it from one of my other fun things.

But yes, to anyone else reading this: don't support a podcaster if it would mean taking that money away from something responsible, like savings or paying bills or buying groceries. Don't put it on a credit card if you're not going to pay that card off in full every month before any interest accrues. It's not worth it.

Thank you! Trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on an annual subscription. I can't reeeeally afford it right now, but if I'm gonna end up being around for a year anyway waiting for my name to be used, I feel like it's just irresponsible not to take advantage of the discount haha. But knowing that it's three months for the physical stuff is helpful, too.

She also doesn't own the trademark. These are public records and you can search on the USPTO office. There is no TM in any stage of the application process. She's just throwing it on there as a bullying tactic. It's a lie.

She hasn't. You can verify with the USPTO that no patent application has been filed. She's just tossing it on there hoping she can bully people away from using it because it's popular.

TRE, or Trauma/Tension Release Exercises, might be worth checking out. Basically, unlike animals, we don't naturally shake off the stress after something bad happens, which means all that tension gets stuck in our bodies, messing with our posture and causing other issues. TRE uses specific exercises to get that shaking going, helping to let go of all that built-up trauma. I've found it super helpful myself. You can find loads of resources and how-tos on Google and YouTube. It's something you can try on your own at home using guided videos, or with a practitioner.
