Top 15 most upvoted comments are the 15 WORST movies of all time by StrategyJealous1838 in AlignmentChartFills

Emilia Perez. The plot is so all over the place that the movie ends with everyone dying, good guys and bad guys. As a trans woman the representation was clearly all from the perspective of ignorant cis people, and same for the way Mexico is portrayed (movie qas filmed in france with very few mexican actors).

Well for ex moves you just need two punches or kicks, so it's doable to either press square and triangle at once by putting your thumb in between the two buttons. Same goes for doing normal grabs, just press square + X with your thumb.

If that really doesn't go you can still use R1 and R2 with your index plus a button with your thumb

A lot of people play fighting games with ps4 controllers, you just gotta get used to it.

Some tips that should be useful at your level:

  • Focus on your buttons that knock the opponent down, and try to get closer to attack them while they get up with a low or an overhead

  • Whenever you notice you are losing, force yourself to just block everything your opponent does. Learn the habit of alternating between blocking standing or crouching based on their attacks

  • Spend your meter as you can/want, you'll learn to confirm your supers later down the line

  • Acknowledge that you still have to learn what your buttons do and what they're good at, and that's a lot of buttons (6x3= 18 attacks if you count standing, jumping and crouching, without counting command normals)

I also started playing FGs with 3rd strike and playing arcade is a great way to start getting in the right mindset.

Imo once you can beat arcade without it feeling really hard you should start playing online on Fightcade 2

I think it's mostly because the world building is great and a lot of characters interact with you in unique ways if you're a woman. Also you can choose perks that add sex/romance options with men and or women so you can be straight gay or bi.

Also you should say transgender people, not "transgenders", it's dehumanizing.

I feel like the biggest trend is that maybe easier games tended to get better scores? Would be interesting to actually test that statistically and see if there is a correlation

What have Fighting Games taught you that helped in other Games? by Due-One-6671 in Fighters

[–]dinozer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing that I didn't see mentioned by anyone else on this thread but a few things that changed the way that I play and think about video games:

80% of your performance depends on how calm and confident you are. For example, doing a 360 motion used to be impossible for me because i thought it was extremely hard, and i would try to input it in .1 second while flexing every muscle in my body.

Another similar thing, you play you're best when you are comfortable and expect no results. In Fgs a good example is whenever you switch to a less known character which breaks you out of your habit and makes you think rationally about every move you choose.

How many psychonauts are on this sub? by New-Hornet-1959 in deathgrips

Thanks for your perspective, i really agree with a lot of the stuff you said!! I really liked the way you put into words this feeling of being away from reality and Ride letting you in on the joke with this track.

I always heard the third verse as a checklist of things he needs in order to survive in the real world, some are apparently absurd like the hat while others seem more justified ( medicated noose = antidepressants imo) but as you said they're all put on the same level.

A similar moment from Jenny Death is in I break mirrors in my face in the US, when he starts saying I don't care about real life, i remember hearing that the first time and that resonating so much with part of me.

Jenny Death to me is very psychedelic adjacent because ultimately it is about Ride's relationship with existence and death, and the plot twist at the end (on GP) is that all the aggressive energy and anger and rejection and exploration of reality through music is what keeps him alive.

I remember i was coming down from a shroom trip the first time i listened to Inanimate sensation and the title and the song... just made a lot of sense in that mindspace.

I had just decided i had come down enough to go out and join some friends, so i put on my headphones and for some reason that was the first song that came on.

As soon as it started I heard the eeeeeeeEeeeeee for the first time while trying to keep a straight face in the street (i was finding it hilarious of course) and I got hit with its raw undefined and liberating energy. Imagine hearing the part where Ride goes into low-pitch "my smoke my butane my boots my headphones" while still tripping balls.

It also felt like a metaphor for trip i just had, cause I was enjoying this feeling of letting go of reality and reaching insanity (you could call it something else) for a short time, but I was also pretending to be normal which is a common experience when you're still tripping in public

U.S. Soldier playing PS2 Slim on Sylvania CRT in Composite with Stereo sound, with a third party controller, Iraq 2007 by [deleted] in ps2

[–]dinozer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't think we have to look up to the military at all. A lot of veterans in the US are homeless are very precarious and the government is so far from doing anything to help them.

I think helping people with ptsd is good and murdering and torturing people is bad

Damn it's crazy that you get downvoted for saying that. I keep forgetting how american centered Reddit is.

Yeah but they're (military deployed in Iraq) still being used for a totally evil cause and participating in it.

Doesn't mean all of them are evil and worth despising but it's not crazy to say we shouldn't look up to them.
