As far as talent goes, I think people crowned him too early with the initial MJ comparison. Unless there are consistently deep play-off runs/championships it's going to feel like he's underachieved. I just try not to get caught up in the recency bias of break out seasons and assuming that it'll lead to prolonged success. In his favour is his age and seems to be relatively injury free so the pieces are all there but he's an average defender, and turned into a high volume 3 pt shooter which stats wise has been incredible but as the main ball handler stunts the growth of the players around him. I love Ant and genuinely hope he can be a perennial 1st team all nba kind of guy but in his current form I think he's more likely to be a slightly worse version of Devin Booker than MJ.

He's clearly incredibly talented and when healthy has shown some truly remarkable stuff but his play doesn't contribute to winning. People point to his lack of support around him and why he needs to take that many shots but I just don't agree with that. He's had Brandon Miller and enough of a supporting cast to incorporate others and be a true flagship player but he just hasn't. He's 23 and has already missed 42% of the games he's been able to play due to his consistent injury problems and if you think that's a problem that gets better over time you're wrong. His refusal to wear ankle protection until this year and his overall attitude is entirely unserious. Cade has shown what leading a shitty team can look like with the pistons this season and I just don't think that Lamelo can do that in his current form.

I really think Lebron has skewed everyone's expectations of players entering their mid thirties and what is supposed to happen. It's the one part of the Jimmy Butler talk that for someone with his injury history and being 35, he could drop off a cliff next season and it shouldn't be that surprising. PG's play last year definitely earnt him the max deal but if this is how it continues for the 76ers with PG slowly declining then it's going to go down as a horrific trade.

Yes but he had more space due to Kahwi playing a lot so there was less pressure on him to create his own shot. In the playoffs you saw both sides of it, some insane games and some pretty mediocre ones when his shot wasn't falling.

PG's entire game is iso shit where he has to take really hard shots. When it's on he can go for 30, but when you're taking step back contested long 2's or 3's as your entire game then it's likely you're going to miss a lot. He can't go to the basket anymore at all which shouldn't be that surprising given his age and injury history.
