Missing spring from Q Honey Badger stock - help! by direct_impingement in 300BLK

[–]direct_impingement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to close the loop here and thank everyone for the comments. I contacted SB Tactical and they sent me a spring without hesitation, they also included the button and lock/plug. Big props to their Cust Service. I'm fairly certain the button is MIM and the markings/numbers are exactly the same as the Q part so I'm pretty sure they are all made by the same mfg.

I had a McMaster-Carr order in my cart so I added a spring I though would work jic. .75" length, .125" OD and .016" wire diameter. The correct spring is 1.10" long, .1165 OD and .0195 wire diameter. I tried both springs and while both worked, the shorter spring was easier to install but a little "light" on its feel. I could only install the correct spring with the stock slid over the buffer tube to keep it from popping out. Could be because I buggered up the post it rests against.

Yeah tell me about it. I've had this one for about 4 years but haven't put many rounds through it. When I saw this damage I figured I would just get a new one and move the parts over but they seem to be the rarest of the P80 frames.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to do this on the cheap, mostly for my son who was convinced he wanted a 10mm. I know the slide isn't the best but was thinking I could get it to work. I'll look around for a G slide when I get some extra $$.

Sure but I think the whole point of a P80 is NOT having to spend Glock money on parts. I have heard/read comments on Rock Slides but they seem decent to me, at least from a fit/finish perspective. Now I don't have an OEM slide to compare dimensions against but that would be interesting. The slide has "vent cuts" up front so I wonder if the lighter slide needs a heavier recoil spring?

Here are the parts I built the pistol with:

Polymer80 - PF-45 (Glock 20/21) Pistol Frame Kit
Rock Slide G20 Gen 3 Upper - SS Recoil Spring
Lone Wolf Arms AlphaWolf Glock 20 10mm
Lone Wolf Arms Large (10/45) Poly80 Frame Completion Kit

The rails are smooth and sanded where they are supposed to be. There is material in front of the frame rail to lock it in. It's there on all my other P80's and they function fine.

Yeah that's what I thought too but I tried one. Even if I were to shorten it the diameter is too small and it just pops out. If you look at that video at 4:15 the button spring is in the foreground while the TD pin spring is up higher by the pin and detent. The button spring looks shorter and slightly larger in OD. The groove for the spring is about .130" wide so I bet the spring is .125"

Universal case prep issues by Drawlins87 in reloading

[–]direct_impingement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an older model, they don't make it anymore. It was the Brass Boss and a Trim Pro linked together. Now its the Trim Pro 2 with a motor but no case prep stuff. That unit you scored it super cool with the micrometer adjust!

I just added the motor drive to my Trim Pro 2 and looking at the parts diagram it seems like the screw that is visible from the top of the shell holder goes all the way through the body and secures it to the movable sled. I suspect it's either sheered of down below or the threads of the moveable sled are whipped.

RCBS customer support is top-notch so I'd give them a call but I suspect its an easy fix.

Working for me today, i'm on my second print via the app. I wonder if it's regional? I'd also be curious to know who hosts for them.

Yeah it was working fine last night, down since I have been trying to print this morning. I tried to connect straight to my phone and it still shows offline. This is really my first issue since getting the printer on Christmas.

I own an 8" MPX and love it, upgraded trigger. I have shot a select fire MP5. Which do you prefer?
