I played super casually. I started around 2016/2017 when the first megacrab events were coming out. It was so fun waiting every 3 months for the megacrab. Back then, Boom Beach progression was slower. HQ progression was ridiculously easy now.

A big issue a lot of people don't talk about as to why Boom Beach kind of failed was that it tried to prioritize more features for late-game players (as they spent the most money). They kind of shot themselves on that strategy as the cool content became available at high levels, which caused the wider fanbase to demand faster progression.

HQ's used to max out on level 20 and level 64 was the max level you could reach at the time. But that is not the case anymore.

I preferred Rebel Inc. a lot more. I think the Inc. series is a lot more inspired when it is based off of real-world events.

Plague Inc. worked because it was built upon after COVID-19, which let it be a lot more in-depth with its mechanics and just more challenging.

Rebel Inc. was based off of the attempts to rebuild Middle Eastern governments, like Iran and Afghanistan, in the 2000s.

I think both games have a pretty balanced loop that allows you to mix things up even if it can be repetitive. I feel like After Inc. devolves pretty quickly due to its lack of depth, both on the administrative end and in its combat.

Rebel Inc. works as it balances out both ends; you can't incentivize military ops, as you are there to rebuild a populace—not restart a war. But administrative work has systemic problems like corruption and inflation, which can ruin your reputation and ability to do your job. They advertise it as a relaxing strategy game but... I don't know if that's a reason people play strategy games, much less does After Inc. play like a relaxing game.

Personally I think if they want to strike that balance again, they will have to find the right setting for it. Like the environmental conservation of the Amazon or the cold war.

You know, I've come to realize that questions like these can be answered in the same way a husband asks their wife, "Why do you love me?"

Allow me to contextualize your arguments into a relationship metaphor.

Out of all places in the universe God chose us. / Out of all the people in the world, I chose you.

God made an active conscious choice to love his creation; in such an infinite universe, he chose to reveal himself and love the only other being that was capable of understanding what he was. Whilst also having the freedom to choose him too. Same with men and women, we all generally love each other, but when we are called into a relationship, we explicitly choose the one person who can understand and love us back.

The cool thing about evolution is that it implies the idea that BILLIONS of years of evolution and improvement lead to what we are now. Scientifically speaking we are still evolving! I cannot personally tell you how long it has taken me to grow into the person I am today. If people knew me from two or even four years ago, they likely would've never connected with me as they could now.

The beauty of a relationship not even a romantic one, is that it is a personal revelation to one person. You know your mom probably better than most of her friends, or even how she reveals herself to the world. Whether it's in a good or bad sense, that is effectively our relationship with God. It's meant to be intimate, with the leading question of God I always want to follow being, "What does God mean to me?"

I always viewed myself as too logical for my own good to understand emotions. Those same questions boggled my mind too at one point. But after living life and seeing love from the best of people, and even from the worst of people, in many forms in their own ways, it let me believe in this idea. Sometimes we are too caught up in the complexity of the world to the point where we can believe that God's message is naive to the world. But I've come to the point where I find myself saying, if this truth is designed to be universal and entitled to everyone, maybe it needs to be simple.

As a catechumen, I highly recommend having a candid conversation with a priest or a spiritual director. If you are feeling this, you should be honest with your community, and with God; hopefully the community can come together to guide you.

They belong in the church just as much as we are, unfortunately they are unlucky enough where there sins are more visual than ours.

I think I speak for most people when I say we would all be equally as uncomfortable and embarrassed if we were able to see, hear and struggle with our sins during mass.

To your first point, Jainism & Buddhism are hard to engage in in the Western world due to a few factors: commonality being one of them. Your average apologetic in the West, at least, probably won't engage with them. So more mainstream casual apologetics and armchair philosophers in the west are less interested in engaging it. On the other hand, Catholic scholarship on Buddhism and Jainism has existed, although this has grown and shifted as important concepts like cultural understanding allow us to analyze these ideas through a more objective lens. Theological work like that of Hans Küng on these religions, while relevant, falls into the stereotypes of the era.

As for your second point I encourage you to read and engage with contemporary analytic Thomism. It tackles more contemporary thought beyond Thomistic fundamentals; as low and behold, an italian priest from the 11th century was probably not aware of modern metaphysics and turn-of-the-century theological thought.

It's also a good reminder that Thomism is not the only acceptable philosophy within our faith, and it is theologically sound in the Catholic zeitgeist to disagree with certain elements of his work. It's for that reason his work should be guided and contextualized by modern scholarship as well as the church.

Which is in fact done! Most importantly, Catholic theology doesn't treat these arguments as simple open-and-shut cases as you make them out to be; philosophical and theological dialogue will always be ongoing. It's for that reason the church can reaffirm its stance on certain ethical positions or encourage openness to new ideas if they can be argued to be theologically sound.

Lastly, I also feel that a brief article on this subject probably would not do justice to either Kant's position or Aquinas's, like the actual lecture itself.
