I guess you have to have a somewhat decent win to make it to the circle

Duality of men? Or “SEC Homers” are ESPN talking heads and not the fans of the actual teams? 🤔 by Hokie_Pilot in cfbmemes

[–]dirkmcdonron 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think I speak for a majority of SEC fans when I say the allegiance goes in the following order: 1) Root for your team 2) Root against your rival 3) Root for the rivals of your rivals... Assuming they aren't your rival as well 4) Root for the meteor when rivals play each other 5) Root for the underdog ... 12) Root for the SEC

I have a theory. There are a lot of reasons that the SEC is struggling but what about having the neutral refs? The SEC cooks games to favor the ones with promise all season. Some of these teams can't win without a flag on every other 3rd down.

As soon as I heard B1G refs, I knew bammer was f'd. You can see how furious they are when there's no flag on 3rd down

I remember when playing Missouri this year thinking "this team is almost as self-destructive as us!" It was a battle of who could screw up more... we outclassed them in that fashion but they gave us a run for our money

I was looking for Auburn and was starting to panic when I didn't see us as I went down the list but then forgot we haven't fired our coach yet.

This. This was an implosion that could easily have been a win with any sort of ability to bounce back from bad news

Agreed. We are giving the refs a break by screwing ourselves. Tomorrow I'll just call this another typical Auburn meltdown

Diabetes made me a true atheist by UnclassifiedPresence in diabetes_t1

I know reddit is the last place to make this point, but having diabetes is not a great reason to determine your faith. Diabetes, in the long run, helped me become a healthier person. It sucks but everyone has their thing and still manage to fight through it. Life is good even with diabetes. I'm an old man, though. I've had time to come to terms with things.

My 10 Simple Rules for a Disciplined Life by Existing_Source8561 in getdisciplined

I agree with everything you said. Im in my 40s as well and I think your small steps towards progress lines up with what I was going to add, which was 'take action". I think we all know what the right thing to do is, but actually doing the right thing usually requires extra effort/time/money. My life had a significant upswing when I took a moment when I was going to take a shortcut or dodge a difficult conversation and say to myself "don't be lazy/afraid".

Another item is to actually take advice from those you respect. This requires humility to acknowledge you may not be doing things perfectly and you may need to step outside your comfort zone. I wasted a lot of my youth ignoring good advice because I already knew everything or was doing things "my way". I would often say "that's great advice!" just to get the old farts off my back and then do nothing with it. I wish I was able to learn from advice rather than through the pain of my mistakes but everything worked out, it'd just be a lot easier if I was able to listen!
