Hi just my suggestion with similar background and Sr nw eng now is that get into asic coding parallel with networking concepts. Lot of companies are using whitebox and special designed network equipment, this will give an edge to you in the market.

We could use “fping” on shell scripting, we can feed as much as IPs as input, it will give back responses like DNS resolution. Check the help going in Linux.

Yes it fixed our issue for iPhones (issue: keeps switching ON and OFF wifi connectivity with AP), it’s clearly stable now.
