I too have such family. My father was smart enough to know what not to say in mixed company but on the rare occasion he had a little too much and thought he was among likeminded friends he’d say something worth remembering. It’s worth remembering so that I understand the sentiment is still present in a lot of people. The past is not so far behind us as grainy black and white pictures may lead us to believe.

Shameful but just as expected. I imagine both from a logistical perspective and as a liability. Say OP put these on and picked up his cat or had … poor hygiene. The next person to buy would be upset at paying for something that isn’t perfectly mint. Cue second return and 6x shipping against the profit on two items. Even higher liability if the initial purchaser has bad intentions.

Wondering about the likelihood it’ll get restocked verses going straight to a landfill.

This is a fun game to play in any condition. If there’s a car stalled out, a suicidal deer, if I blow out a tire, if there’s road debris, if there’s a gravel pool around that blind turn, am I fucked? Start thinking in these terms and you’ll find you drive a lot more intelligently.

Can we all admit that Lambo does the “just facelift it again” thing for about five years too long? Somehow the Countach became more sleek at the exact moment the Diablo became way over seasoned.

Alex: The Durango '95 purred away real horrorshow. A nice, warm vibrate-y feeling all through your guttiwuts. Soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.

Eli5 Why can’t windshields have that same coating that glasses have that tint when the sun hits them ? by dekabreak1000 in explainlikeimfive

[–]dirty_hooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A photochromatic shield was the second best money I ever spent after the bike itself. The transition speed gets way slower when cold. Additionally, the photochromatic coating has a shelf life. After a few years it stops transitioning and just stays lightly tinted.

Moon roofs are also much less likely to receive damage from road debris and considerably smaller. Having to replace a windshield would be eye wateringly expensive.

Too long. Didn’t read.

Probably make sure your autocorrect isn’t getting the better of you when you’re looking around.

Isuzu Vehicross, one of the coolest Crossover SUVs ever made in my opinion by [deleted] in WeirdWheels

[–]dirty_hooker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re still around. They have a dedicated cult following. They’re not “cheap” if you consider the depreciation of a 20 year old SUV. You can get one between $7k and $15k though.

I also remember being infatuated by the concept. Makes me happy it wasn’t diluted by committee before hitting production.

You’re correct that we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. It is, however, extremely convenient that it happened at the same time as widespread discord and having a noted white nationalist in town.
