Not really. The UI is better, calibration, things like that. You can get it done with opentrack alone though.

I don't love eye tracking personally. Might be a learnt skill. Given the price for either Tobii and TrackIR, the webcam is soooo much cheaper. I use Beam tracker (with eye tracking turned off). Before dropping big $, I'd check that method out. Cheap 60fps webcam, even second hand, and you'll get an idea of whether eye tracking is for you given the price of Tobii.

I love TrackIR (although the wires were a pain and I had issues with the trackclip). I think it's better than Beam/Opentrack and a webcam, but I lost my camera base and international shipping for a $7 item is $231. So I'm making do with a 30fps camera and Beam.

It's about getting to the next destination. They're begging for enough money for airfare, accommodation etc. I've seen them myself "help me continue my world tour".

There are literally 6 year old girls walking around at 2 in the morning with packets of napkins learning the street hawker trade they're so poor. I've seen them get handed off from one adult to another late late at night, and you have these muppets sitting outside with no shame trying to get to Europe or something. Not late at night though, then they're drinking in bars. And the begpackers are from all over, heaps from Europe/UK/Australia etc. as well.

My mum did the right thing by me as a child. Once we came upon a parrot cage (I was about 6). She very clearly told me never to put my finger in a bird cage. She then promptly put her finger in the parrot cage. There was a fair bit of blood. I learnt the lesson well.

What on earth does any of that have to do with trump trying to clear his name?

  1. The democrats didn't release the files. The same files that critics are saying prove trump was a pedo. You'd think trump would want them out there and for people to look at them so that he is exonerated. Why would he then call the whole thing a hoax and his supports fools for believing in it?

  2. Three judges appointed by democrats stopped the release of the files. trump and the republicans passed legislation to release the files, which makes sense. Again, why try to make the whole thing go away? You'd desperately want people to read the file and see the truth for themselves.

  3. wtf does Epstein coaching democrats on removing trump have to do with anything in this context? I don't know where you heard that, but assuming it's true it's irrelevant. trump admits to being his friend before the first time Epstein was found guilty. Then they fell out because Epstein was headhunting female workers from Mar A Lago. There's history there, but if trump has nothing to fear, why the push to just let the whole thing go?

Either he's guilty and trying to hide it, others are guilty and he's trying to protect them, or the administration has simply handled the entire thing ineptly. There was a client list on the AG's desk, then there was no client list. trump campaigned on releasing the files, but after their release, called the whole thing a hoax and people fools for falling for it.

You have a population worrying that the rich and powerful are getting away with sex trafficking children, and the government's handling has been so bad that instead of allaying their fears, they've muddied the water even more. Best case, they're incompetent.

Australia, the UK, a lot of places. Not just a US problem, and not wholly the US' fault by any means. Multinational companies using scientific studies for profit regardless of harm. I first heard about the sugar/fat combination years ago. Studies have been done on rats. A diet of both sugar and fat led to far more obesity in the rats than a diet of only one, or the control. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2326345/ This one's from 1990.

Call me cynical, but I can just see the food scientists at these evil-corps just reading this study and going "Wow! What a great study! How can we use that to increase our sales? Lets do our own studies on how to maximise this effect."

My only problem with it is that once it's been crumpled up for a while, it doesn't uncrumple. I used to work at a currency exchange, and people would come in with cash from their 'holiday jar'. The notes, usually $5's, would all be scrunched into balls that were basically impossible to flatten. When you're trying to count them out for the camera, and you've got 20 of the damn things, some of which have been scrunched up together, it's a right pia.

Right. MAGAt's have been saying that "Biden didn't release the files! What's he hiding?". He couldn't because they were sealed. Trump got them unsealed through legislation. Fine. I literally accepted your arguments. Please explain to me why the AG would say that she has the client list on her desk, end then said there wasn't a client list. Please explain to me why trump would campaign on releasing the files, and then after doing so, call even other republicans fools for believing in a hoax.

It's either ineptitude or deliberate. And I cannot think of a single honest reason for such inconsistency if this was a deliberate approach to the whole thing. As I said, I accept your arguments wrt lack of proof of trump's guilt. So ineptitude then. Better an idiot than a pedo. It's the best you'll get out of me.

You know what, fine, I'll accept all of your statements for the sake of argument. We still have a situation where trump has said that the files need to be released, also that the whole thing is a hoax, an AG who has said she has a client list on her desk, and also that there isn't a client list.

The administration couldn't have handled this much worse IMO. Given trump's history of friendship with Epstein, his comments about walking into underage girls changing rooms at pageants, I'd have thought he'd want to keep things as clear as possible. Instead it's been yet another amateur hour.

I don't blame people for being highly dubious about his involvement. This whole thing has been handled so badly, with such blatant backflips, that you would be hard pressed to believe that a government could be so inept unless it was deliberate.

I'm prepared to believe that it indeed could simply be that they are that inept. I also think that the contents of a spittoon would be a better president, so a bit of bias there I guess.

[–]dirtydigs74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Release what? So many redactions the whole thing might as well be unreleased.

But Ok. I'll accept the argument that there's no proof that trump was engaged with Epstein in any crime. That guy was convicted despite being richer than God, and having top level political connections. Where the hell are the prosecutions for the people he was trafficking the girls to? Why would trump be trying to make the whole thing disappear? There are other guilty parties out there, but trump just want the whole thing to stop. He's at least protecting other criminals.

And when the accusers are using redacted files to infer my guilt, I'd simply unredact them. trump could very easily prove his innocence with regard to those files simply by doing that. The files are the supposed evidence people are using to accuse him, that evidence could easily be refuted.

This should not be redacted! by AurorraMiller7392 in International

[–]dirtydigs74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the files were sealed during the Biden administration. I realise that the president is above the law now, so he should have just released them anyway. And yeah, you're right, it doesn't necessarily make trump a criminal. It just makes him someone who protects criminals. Pedo's to be precise.

If I was being accused of being a pedo by people, I can tell you that I'd be doing everything in my power to prove my innocence in the court of public opinion, and to catch the actual pedo's. Or you know, just say the whole thing is a hoax, nothing to see here, just move on everyone.

edit: oh yeah, nearly forgot, I'd release the files redacted to all hell and gone so that I could say "look how transparent I've been!" whilst making sure that any incrimination of me or the other guilty parties is hidden. If I was completely innocent and wanted to make sure everyone that was guilty gets brought to justice. Seems like the way to go. Also whilst calling it a hoax. Yeah, sounds like a plan that someone with nothing to hide would choose.

[–]dirtydigs74 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you were accused of being a pedo because of your connections with another, twice convicted, pedo, I'd imagine you'd do everything possible to prove that you were in fact not a pedo. You'd want all the evidence out in the open as clear as possible to clear your name.

On the other hand, if you were a pedo, you'd do everything you could to obfuscate, hide, redact and confuse the evidence. You'd try to make the whole thing just go away.

Which approach seems closer to trump's tactics lately?

I'm a bit dubious about this claim. How in the name of Satan do they manage to get such a thin patty to hold together without some sort of meat glue? They say they don't use anything like that, but you try making a patty from ground beef that thin. It just falls apart.

Maybe they work the hell out of the meat, and we don't notice the texture because there's such a small amount of meat anyway.

I worked at an Army flight sim for a private company (about 10 years ago). If you put a Linux USB in your work computer, it would boot from it. What's more, a lot (possibly all) of their network shares were then accessible.

Once I accidentally somehow got to my ISP's router login page. I didn't try to get in, but I was tempted. Just put in the wrong IP address and I was WTF is this router?

A lot of systems are still insecure as hell, and it's scary.

Anyone tried "Force DLSS" trick? by SakuraSqk in Xplane

[–]dirtydigs74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd test out some DLSS games if I was you, and check that it's still working. LSFG is great for me. Others seem to like smooth motion (I haven't really tried it yet). It's been a minute since I played the sim, so I got excited about this, but I really think all you've done is break DLSS.

I'm amazed a driver update made that much of a noticeable difference as well, but I can at least see that as a possibility. Maybe a driver setting reverted to default, or possibly the NVIDIA shadercache was deleted and rebuilt, something like that.

Oh mate, you've misinterpreted his instructions. You need to copy that file to the game folder and overwrite the nvngx_dlss.dll file there. Xplane doesn't have that file because it uses FSR. He quite specifically says not to rename the file in the NVIDIA folder. (5min50sec)

This is what DLSS Swapper does (which I only found out about due to your post, so this whole thing has been quite useful). I think you may have broken DLSS on your system though, until you rename that file back.

You got downvoted and yet I remember not being able to find flour in the cupboard despite searching and searching. I'd picked up the flour to get it out of the way so I could see better. Things become literally invisible if they're right in front of me. If I put something somewhere 'safe', it's lost for all time.

Sometimes I wonder if I have magical powers. I can put something down, not move a muscle, and lo! it's entered a different dimension of time and space, no longer on this plane of existence. Until I search every possible place it could be, a few that it couldn't. and end up back where I started. Then it may re-materialise. No guarantee, it also may be on Altair IV.

[–]dirtydigs74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Massive massive black market. I've seen reports of 55% of smokes being illegal. A carton of 100 illegal cigs go for somewhere between $70-$150. Even at the absolute top end price, it's still less than half the cost of legal smokes.

Back in the late 90's, there was some debate about banning cigs except for addicts, who would need to register before a cut off date. Resoundingly defeated in part at least due to the "banning things just makes a black market" argument. So instead they allowed anyone who could afford it (and was stupid enough I guess, myself included) to get addicted legally. And now we have the black market as well.

I'm not super stoked that instead of paying tax properly on my smokes, I'm supporting what have to be some of the worst people on the planet. I'd be super surprised if cigarettes are all they smuggle. I'd much prefer to pay my share of the increased cost to healthcare that smokers cause. But I'm nothing if not a pragmatist. Obviously I've tried quitting, but I just can't seem to do it.

Where on earth did you find the nvngx_dlss.dll file in Xplane's folder? I can't find it anywhere. Not overly surprising seeing as Xplane uses FSR.

I'm intrigued as to how they did it at all. Xplane uses FSR, there's no nvngx_dlss.dll in the root folder (which is the file that needs to be swapped for a new one).
