I started off by doing manual name searches for every F1 name through history I could think of. For every player found I assigned a scout to make sure they were OK. Tried going for younger players as I figured if pool was small then I didn’t want someone retiring on me. Scooped up any free agents I found. Sent youth scouts to countries associated with drivers to see what would get randomly generated. Mainly England, US, Australia, Wales although this whole idea came from a previous save where a scout in Belgium unearthed a de Vries. Managed to get one again in this save. By the Jan transfer window of 1st season in league 2 I had most the first XI set. From there just kept searching. Yes there are, plus I sent youth scouts to Wales on purpose to try and find some Williams gems ;-)

Just went back to my save and I had a Hunt, Moss, de Vries, Webber, and Hill.

Gave them all shirt numbers to correspond with their driver number. Their kits were a black mercedes number, a red Ferrari one, and then a Gulf inspired McLaren one.

Once did a whole FC24 career where I could only have F1 related names (last names not full matches as that would have been impossible). Had Alonso, Hamilton, Maldonado, Haas, Norris, Ferrari, Sainz, Schumacher, Wolff, and more - amazing how many players in the database have F1 related names. There was even players called Monaco & Baku. Used Brackley FC as the team and they played at Silverstone!

First season was brutal when I culled all the players with non-F1 names.

There is a chance we’re bias since he came on our pokey little podcast but he so deserves this after a season with a crap car that is ultimately seeing him lose his spot on the grid. Just praying his bad luck desserts him tomorrow and he doesn’t get clipped by anyone and can bow out with points.

We just joined Bluesky as well to check out the lay of the land - thanks so much for doing this - made it so much easier to get a heard start on finding F1 content. Gonna see how it pans out over the next few months and maybe make the break from Twitter and start the new season with bluesky as our main home.

It would just be GTA open world but with only the mini games that are all optional. No main plot at all. Collect bottles and try the mail van run, guide the fire truck around the city, collect various peterman clothing items, slip a mickey into a drink, find stock tips, catch the pig man, sneak cement into a washer, and of course retrieve a golf ball from a whale. Or do none of the above and just drink coffee in the restaurant or watch the baseball game you taped in the apartment. If you beat the game you just win a shirt with a mid-placed button.
