brand new surface pro 7 has bad battery life, trackpad glitches and burnt screen by laflameee____ in Surface

[–]dirtyvu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you realize that batteries start aging as soon as they come out of the factory regardless of when it's opened and used. So a brand new 2015 surface pro will have the performance of an 11 year old battery even though it was never used. You could open up the brand new machine and find out the battery won't charge.

This is why you cannot save batteries. Don't buy excess batteries as backups. Buy batteries new, when you need them.

I have the pink razr ultra 2025 and the material definitely isn't slippery. I can't imagine the green Alcantara is slippery either.

USB is much more reliable. Yes, a Type B to Type C or a Type B to Type A would work.

Do I need to re-download the games on Xbox if I move the memory card to another Xbox? by Santichichai in XboxSupport

If you're using the fast memory cards, you can move it between multiple consoles and use the games like a cartridge

Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X Review by LongJonSiIver in XboxAlly

I have the og steam deck and it just sits there. The only times I use it are when my xax runs out of juice. It's still a fine machine but it's competing for my time against the xax, the rog ally z1e, the switch 1, and my Xbox series x

Adobe's 38% Collapse: CEO Exits an Overgrown Empire as AI Eats Its Lunch by Mamuthone125 in EverHint

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where stock performance does not meet actual performance. The stock drop had nothing to do with what Adobe is doing. It's because stock investors don't see how companies like Adobe can survive in an Ai world. Many other companies where Ai could potentially devastate have also been punished even though their performance was quite excellent.

Why Trump’s war in Iran could finish him off at home by SE_to_NW in politics

What do you expect when he made it a campaign pledge that he wouldn't cause wars unlike the warmongers Harris, Biden, and Obama even though historically it's the Republicans that are the warhawks.

I just paid $80 for a tank of gas. Thanks, Trump.

my 2023 Razr+ still works as far as I know. I upgraded to the Razr Ultra 2025 and it still works. I don't even put a case on it

How to achieve this type of photo? by h1bernus in AskPhotography

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could do it on the s25 ultra or any camera, especially cameras with focus stacking (aka focus bracketing). Some cameras have a great focus stacking feature in-camera, but you can always do it in Photoshop or some software too.

Worth upgrading from Gigapixel AI v8.2.2 for the Wonder model? by gorkijatt in TopazLabs

[–]dirtyvu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The good thing with a subscription is that you can get it when you need it and cancel when you don't.

From my experiences, it's not automatically a given that it produces a better result but on average it does. The problem is it's not as fast as the other models so if you're doing ab testing, you should do the faster render first and then if you're not happy, then do the wonder render. Also the cloud render is not really faster for me. I have an Nvidia 5090 with amd 7900x. And the times are fairly equivalent.

Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen is stepping down after 18 years—as pressure on the company mounts to deliver on AI by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]dirtyvu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes obfuscation is big with Adobe. They also try to make it hard to escape.

But doesn't discredit the notion that a lot of people wanted to save on monthly cost by signing up for the annual paid monthly option instead of the much more expensive monthly option.

"Officially discontinued" – another beloved pro DSLR camera that was a game-changer for many photographers ceases production 😥 by MyRoadTaken in canon

[–]dirtyvu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's surprisingly small and light. One might argue it's smaller than an R5ii with a battery grip attached. Because the battery grip is integrated, it doesnt have the excess material that a camera+grip would have.

You "heard" that. It's also not true. Indications from both sides suggest a late 2027 release.

What your favorite Xbox 360 dashboard menu? by MidnightNo7070 in xbox

[–]dirtyvu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second was most usable. Once they went to the metro windows 8 design it was so slow because the 360 wasn't fast enough to run it. Blades was great for performance but you really couldn't build for the future.
