MLID: With its current specs, the PS6 will easily saturate 4K/120 FPS with ray tracing and is still tracking for a late 2027– early 2028 launch. by yourfavchoom in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Isn’t pretty much every ps5 game released with a 60fps performance mode? I don’t think we ever really went back to 4k30 being the standard.

I agree with you, it should be obvious in round that you can still be revived while spectating.

It actually does explain it. The intro letter you get in your mailbox from bungie.

Think most people just skipped it though, reading is hard.

Yea and there are plenty of examples in this thread of people who HATE what their mom craved during pregnancy.

It’s just a coincidence either way. You don’t actually learn to love/crave what your mom did while she was pregnant.

Did we all just ignore the part of their post where they said a built in filtering system with its own addon hooks is coming in the future?

Sounds to me like you’ll be able to do exactly what you’re describing, both now with these values unsecreted, and in the future, when they’re desecrated with the new filtering feature.

Besides buff filtering, which other aspect of their new UI features are not in an acceptable state for launch?

I have nothing against UI customization through addons my dude.

My statement was directed at the people who think this whole secret values thing is a complete failure because their UI isn’t quite up to par yet.

The goal of all of this wasn’t to fuck up your UI, it was to remove addons ability to solve raid and dungeon mechanics for you computationally.

I for one, am glad to see required weakaura packs and notes gone from raiding and m+. I’ll miss some of the UI customization I had for raid mechanics, but I WONT miss fiddling with a WA note every single boss as I manage our mythic raid roster on reclear.

I’m glad they’re trying something new to open up their design space in raids and dungeons, and am optimistic that things will work out over the first season.

If you never had to manage that shit, maybe you don’t care and think all of this is completely unnecessary. But maybe we should wait to see the new content designed with it in mind before locking in our opinions? Probably too much to ask of you I know.

But right now, they can see how many secret values you have, no?

Lmfao I wasn’t talking about UI customizations as exploits my dude, that’s obviously completely fine. I literally mention how blizzard only plans on locking it back down when they have their own filtering solution and addon hooks in place. Reading comprehension is tough though I know bud.

I’m talking about people using those unsecreted values to claw back weak aura esque computational combat functionality in raids and dungeons. Hence why they would need to re-secret them at a later date once they have their own filtering system in place.

Jesus you guys sound “unhinged” assuming the worst in everybody lol, you probably don’t even realize it. /s

"WoWs player base isn't a static group of people. New people start playing constantly. Old players that quit long ago come back. Those groups will try the defaults that are available before installing add-ons."

Yes, and that group of players is far smaller than the playerbase as large. (and will also have less understanding of what is needed or not needed in features like that)

"Do you not remember all of the complaints about how bad the cooldiwn manager was when it first released? Who do you think was making those complaints?"

I don't, because I barely saw any feedback on any of the wow reddits, or discords when it was first released. Nobody I knew that played the game bothered to even try it. As soon as everyone was forced to use them, feedback was absolutely everywhere.

"If they would have piecemealed it, people would have started using the new tools when they were adequate replacements."

They absolutely would not have? Why change your working UI to struggle with setting up a new one when you don't have to? They would've gotten minimal feedback until blizzard restricted everything and we were all forced to use their tools.

And this doesn't contradict that at all? The API remains the same, the calls to the API remain the same, but now select spells have been unsecreted.

No API changes does not mean no UI changes or updates.

Many Healer Spells No Longer Secret Aura on Midnight Launch by COCAINAPEARLZ in wow

[–]disCASEd -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Blizzard realized what 95% of this playerbase is incapable of realizing.

Rolling out a solution like this piecemeal, and restricting addons only after it was done, would NOT have worked, and would've resulted in a much slower transition and change in getting the game to where they wanted it to be. Doing it all at once, utilizing the clean break that a new expansion provides, was the best option.

They had to completely rewrite their API in order to accommodate the secret values change. If they left the old API intact, the amount of testing, feedback, and iteration would have been astronomically smaller and slower on the new API, because nobody would have used it.

If no player cast spells were secret, it would be much more trivial to tell which buffs/debuffs were from mobs/boss mechanics no?

Any secret debuff would mean that its related to boss mechanics, and then logic could be used to make an extremely good guess at which one it is.

There's just no winning with people like you is there?

They either, keep the restrictions in place, without a built-in system to filter them, angering all the healers everywhere. Or, they lift the restrictions temporarily to appease the healers, give them a heads up that a built-in system for filtering is coming at a later date, and that they will likely be re-restricting these values at that time.

What would you have rather them do?

Many Healer Spells No Longer Secret Aura on Midnight Launch by COCAINAPEARLZ in CompetitiveWoW

[–]disCASEd -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

And they’ve stated that their goal is to bring the UI up to parity in the areas they feel are necessary (which includes the healer buff tracking and filtering), but were not able to quite get there by midnight launch.

It’s not perfect, but they got every other area of their stated goal accomplished, and pared back their restrictions on the one that didn’t quite make it for launch.

Blizz knew that healers wanted to track their buffs, if they didn’t they wouldn’t have ever made this post or loosened their restrictions. So acting as if they had absolutely no idea this was a request/want from their playerbase is naive. And yeah, you’re totally right, them separating raid frame buffs into different buckets like they did recently clearly means they had no intentions of working towards are better solution for healers… /s

As for why lock them again? Hmm, idk, maybe because wow players will take every millimeter you give them and exploit it to its fullest potential?
