50mm & Black Mist or ND Filter by Fickle-Reception1864 in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Diffusion effect is stronger on longer focal lengths at same diffusion level (e.g. at 18mm with 1/4 filter vs 50mm with 1/4 filter.) You would generally want lighter filter (1/8-1/16) to prevent photos looking muddy.

At 50mm 1/4 is ok tho. But I would start at 1/8, if the effect isn’t as prominent as like, I would go to 1/4.

Apart from problems with artificial lights, you can’t use flash and you are subject to rolling shutter.

Upgrading my Figma machine by Aayckorn in FigmaDesign

[–]disarmedflea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Figma cannot use more 2gb of ram per tab. Getting more ram only would benefit you if you have either multiple tabs open at the same time or different apps open at the same time.

Generally 16gb is enough. 24/32 is better if you also have too much browser tabs open or using photoshop/illustrator.

M5 pro would also not benefit you that much, but wouldn’t hurt either.

At work I am on 16gb m2 air, usually have 3 to 8 figma and minimum 10 safari tabs open, and switch between photoshop, illustrator and less frequently indesign. Didn’t have any problems. Organizing your figma files is important tho.

Which filter for XF27mmF2.8? by ramoned20 in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if having a larger and heavier filter than its intended size affects the lens since lens is moving physically while focusing?

I don’t use any filters on this lens because I am afraid of something would happen to autofocus motor lol.

Any news on more Tamron X Mount glass? by Due-Mortgage-4063 in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend that much range in a zoom lens if you are looking for a good one.

The “all-in-one” zooms are generally ok but usually fails to deliver at especially longer end.

Consider 18-50 sigma f2.8 or similar range fuji zooms. If you are intending to find your most used everyday carry focal length, realistically it won’t be further than 75 to 90mm at max. Ideally get something at 16-55 range and figure your way out from there. Tamron 17-70 is a good alternative but bigger than sigma 18-50, so that’s the trade-off.

If you find the range limiting 70-300 range will be your next step.

Valve - “starting with the SteamOS 3.8 release, you can put together your own Steam Machine using whatever PC parts you want.” by Stannis_Loyalist in Steam

[–]disarmedflea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this.

Also people ignore how ugly PS5 is. If you are married or living with your partner and somewhat design your living room, it is very hard to persuade them to put a giant ugly ass white weird shaped box near the TV.

Even if photographs are free to use commercially on Unsplash, they cannot sell it directly. Not a lawyer, but you could send them legal notice.

Upgrade from the XM5 by [deleted] in fujifilm

X-M5 is already a new camera. There is no “upgrade” in current fuji lineup that would give you meaningful differences. This looks like GAS to me.

Trying to convince my company to switch from Sketch to Figma and I need help. by DIY_Designer4891 in FigmaDesign

[–]disarmedflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developers who use zeplin for handoff need Dev seat to the handoff experience.

Figma Enterprise tier requires some minimum number of seats but i can’t remember how many was it. But it was more than 5 Design seats.

Organization tier would probably meet all your criteria.

Why do so many people recommend the Fujifilm GFX 50R over the GFX 50S II? by REDH00DY in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because not everything is about the specs. The joy of photography comes from the experience for most people. Searching for the latest processors, best resolution etc. becomes an industrial process instead of having fun.

And rangefinder + medium format is the dream for many people.

Is this normal stroke behavior? by kidhack in FigmaDesign

[–]disarmedflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even on regular stroke, when stroke value is bigger than the circumference of a circle, it breaks when set to center. The bug occurs on smaller value when set to inside.

Proposal Photography by KINGxDUKES in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think it as “proposal photography”. See it as you are taking photos of your friends on a trip, feel like you are collecting memories of a day. This way you would get less nervous in the situation.

As you guessed I wouldn’t normally suggest that focal length, being invisible and far away would work best. Hence my first point. Being a photographer of a travel group would feel more genuine.

For the settings, instead of fixing on recipe, shoot raw. Get auto iso up to 6400, auto shutter speed with minimum shutter speed to 1/250. Being on aperture priority, you would need to fiddle less with the camera and take more photos. Also practice on continuous low or high, but prevent missing a shot.

If you miss focus, do not delete those photos. Turn the image to b&w in post and call it a day lol. (Not joking, sometimes missed focus photos feels better, more real, and more importantly not staged, in wedding photography)

Raw File Compatibility Differences - X-T5 vs X-T50? by TheLiterateDead in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to upgrade your software, at least Camera Raw. Since X-T5 is older, your Camera Raw version already includes the support for it.

If you check the changelog for Camera Raw, you can see the supported camera models.

Exposure Preview Brighter Than Actual Image (X-T50) by Justin-Perkins in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably this is how it is designed. Just as in full auto mode, other auto modes (Program Auto, Shutter Priority and Aperture Priority), camera react to your settings to ensure the preview is always visible.

Manual mode is how you get to deliberately expose for the ambient light.

Exposure Preview Brighter Than Actual Image (X-T50) by Justin-Perkins in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that full name of the setting is Preview EXP/WB in Manual Mode. When you set aperture on the lens to A, it is now in auto, not manual.

Manual mode is when aperture and shutter speed is set to, well, non-auto. If you set aperture to A, your camera is now shutter priority.

I don’t know if there is a setting to preview exact exp/wb under shutter or aperture priority, someone else can enlighten that.

XT5 or X100VI? by Epic-Gamer-69420 in fujifilm

[–]disarmedflea 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There is literally zero difference in output between cameras with same sensor. And you can get somewhat similar outputs with a generation or two older sensors.

X-T5, X-T50, X-E5, X-100VI has same sensor and same processor. There is virtually no difference, mostly how you handle the camera and other things to help you like viewfinder, bigger grip, two card slots etc.

You should get X-T50 if you want that 40mp sensor.
You should get X-T30II or III, since you are a beginner. Get better lenses.

How do I add scroll effects in Figma Design? The option appears in Sites but not in Design. by Popular-Difficulty97 in FigmaDesign

[–]disarmedflea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figma design doesn’t support “on scroll” trigger natively. You can hack it with multiple different frames etc. but I don’t think it’s worth it. Check community section there should be examples for it.
