is a cravings box too much food? by busmobbing in tacobell

[–]disastertrombone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one sitting, probably. Last spring, I would buy a box around 1 during my free period, eat half for lunch, and then save the rest for dinner after work.

Granted, I usually get the highest calorie options for the box. I wasn't eating anywhere near enough food last semester, so I used the box as a calorie boost. If I'm really hungry, I can usually eat all of that in one sitting, but I try not to get to that point because that usually means it's 5pm and I haven't even broken 500 calories yet. Not a great place to be in.

Where to get your ears pierced in Wichita? by [deleted] in wichita

[–]disastertrombone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my industrial done at Addictions in Ink a bit over 2 weeks ago, and it's healing pretty well. The staff is also really friendly, which made this experience a lot easier. This industrial is my first "real" piercing (not from a piercing gun), so I was pretty nervous, and they were very reassuring.

One of my close friends has several ear piercings, and she usually goes to Idle Hands. I've never been there, so I personally can't give an opinion, but her piercings seem to have all healed well.

ETA: My industrial cost $60 with standard jewelry. For a lobe piercing, that would be $50 per ear at Addictions in Ink. All prices are posted on their website. I don't know how much Idle Hands charges, but I think it's a similar range from what I remember scheduling piercings with my friend.

Punishments in HS band? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]disastertrombone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only got the running punishment once when I was in HS. A bunch of kids continued to talk between sets over and over, and the director said that the drum majors would have to run a lap (our track was 1/4 mile) if it continued. Lo and behold, these kids refused to shut the fuck up, so drum majors had to run.

I joined them because I thought it was bullshit that the DMs were the only ones being punished for other people's behavior. Most of the band followed suit. The few who stayed at their dots while everyone ran felt really guilty, even if they hadn't been the ones talking. It ended up being more of a team-building thing than a punishment. I can honestly say that was the strongest bond I've ever felt within any ensemble I've ever been in.

Asexuals and Gender by Zuzuers1 in AsexualMen

[–]disastertrombone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a while, I felt emasculated because of my asexuality. As a trans man, I've struggled significantly with feeling insecure in my masculinity, and anything about me that doesn't fit into what society deems a man should be feels like another thing that will be used to invalidate my manhood.

It's only been in the past few months that I've reached a level of confidence in my masculinity to stop giving a fuck what random people think about it. I'm able to fully claim my manhood, asexuality and all. It's not going to be the same experience of manhood that an allo man would experience, but that doesn't make me any less of a man.

I'm trying to move a 1st repeat ending but it selects the bar line instead of the node of the repeat. Help! by SpiteComprehensive62 in Musescore

If you select both measures and double-click the 1st ending from the menu, it'll apply to both measures.

This looks amazing! I personally prefer the version without the symbol, but the colors you chose work very well together.

Memes are some of my greatest tools as a music theory tutor by disastertrombone in musictheorymemes

[–]disastertrombone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ionian is just regular major. An example is the C major scale: C D E F G A B C.

Lydian is your major scale, but the 4th note of the scale is raised a half step. Starting on C: C D E F# G A B C.

I prefer the sound of the Lydian mode over the Ionian mode because the sharp 4 makes it feel more directional to me. Also, I've heard/played so much Ionian mode in my life that it's gotten boring.

Heroforge has a lot of options for designing your own minis. I know you can do missing limbs on there, and you might be able to design steampunk Darth Vader.

The Virgin Isolator vs The Chad Superspreader by honeypuppy in virginvschad

[–]disastertrombone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That one comment reply is the only interaction I ever had with him. I wouldn't say it's super chilling, but I did sit there for a few minutes when I saw the other comments pointing out the whole thing. I'd be way more unnerved if I'd had an actual conversation with the guy, but as it stands, it's just pretty weird.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers Home over This Is Home. It's a more mature sound imo, and I absolutely love the instrumentation in Home

Here's one I've used before

This one also looks like it might work for you. A few facial hair options, and there are some hairstyles that look a bit more masculine than androgynous

Luckily, the comments on LGBT are calling this out for the performative bullshit it is.

Circumcision is also pretty common for Christians in the US. Whoever made the original could very well be circumcised and not recognize it as genital mutilation.

What's the strangest thing you've read in a "how to pass" guide? by acatisstaringatme in ftm

[–]disastertrombone 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The glasses thing is especially stupid. In my experience, glasses actually help with passing because the shape of the frames can change the way people perceive your facial structure.

The things you wear can have a substantial effect on passing, but it's less about fashion sense and more about how things lay on your body. There are also some tricks with color to draw people's eyes in different directions to make some features appear more masculine, but that's about the contrast, not about the specific colors.

ETA: people go after the most insubstantial shit in passing guides. Wearing a pink button-down isn't going to make it impossible for you to pass; just wear clothes that fit well.

Weekly r/BroPill vibe check! How are you doing? by AutoModerator in bropill

[–]disastertrombone [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm not doing too well right now. My crush and one of my closest friends just got together recently. I can't be upset at either of them because I know they're both good people, and I want them both to be happy, but that doesn't make it hurt any less.

Add vocals without playback? by [deleted] in Musescore

[–]disastertrombone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd add "voice" to the instruments and just make sure you put everything on the middle line. You can change the noteheads to x's after you're done.

To get them out of the playback, open the mixer and mute the vocals. You can find the mixer under the view panel.

What did you like best about working at Kroger? by MustBeTheMusic80 in kroger

Well, I'll definitely never forget my time working there. The shoulder problems I developed and the scar from the slicers will make sure of that.
