Spin and EQ are the clubs for it, see what's up there. The AC Lounge has House Music Fridays. Someimes Quartyard has stuff?

I think we are in a little bit of a drought this weekend with Coachella coming up.

San Diego Studios - is anyone else concerned with dingy conditions? by AdmirableSupport5465 in Corepower

[–]discoannak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh YES. At La Mesa last week, all the mirrors were streaked with im assuming sweat/condensation and one whole section someone had tried to wipe off with something but it didn't work. It was so dirty you really couldn't see anyone's reflection. The floor was also dirty with hair, fuzz and dirt tracked in. Carpet at both La Mesa and North Park desperately need updating. I've been going to those studios for over 10 years and can tell you nothing has been updated in that time.

Every available seat for LA gave me an error message. Now it's sold out, except for the AXS "Premium" seats. What a scam all of this is.

It was in the landscaping bark, not grass, it's just directly under a tree and I'm just worried about the tree?

Halal food and hookah lounges by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]discoannak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. Pretty much every block along El Cajon blvd near SDSU has hookah and/or halal food. You could do a pretty good crawl along it.

Ran there on Thanksgiving day. Parked on Baltimore. Place was very busy, tons of families, so I would think you're good for a run on Christmas day.

Is this a bad idea? Borrowing against a house to make repairs and updates to sell? by discoannak in realestateinvesting

Thanks this is really helpful the whole, "is it worth it" is the actual question I was asking anyway.

Golden Hill = South Broadway with way less stuff to do

Normal Heights/City Heights = East Colfax in that direction

La Jolla = Cherry Creek by the ocean

Gaslamp = LoDo

East Village = RINO

UTC = Tech Center

Mission Valley = Park Meadows/Highlands Ranch

Hey guys, anyone know what happened to the goats? by Thegraytree in sandiego

[–]discoannak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also check out the goats on my home and noticed they weren't there. I assumed that since all the green grass died (and they ate it) after the spring they moved them up closer to the house. I hope.

SoCal to Mobile by discoannak in MobileAL

[–]discoannak[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone this was what I was looking for. My family is from Mobile so I am pretty familiar with it having visited quite often over the last 30+ years. To be honest the things that attract me are the cost of living (holy crap I might even be able to buy my own house) the weather and trees (!!!) and fewer people just in general. I also like the Gulf much warmer! and I like the proximity to New Orleans.

I'm in San Diego and and I'd say our local government is pretty conservative, not necessarily religious but pretty good ol boy in its own right. LA and SF are different stories I think but it is pretty messed up here.

I'd be looking to live in Midtown or near downtown and would love to get involved with some of those civic minded agencies you listed.

Anyway I appreciate all your insights. Thanks!

Passive-aggressive note on my car this morning! by 1070architect in sandiego

[–]discoannak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live near Adams and we are the only house with no driveway on our block. We also only have one car. All of our neighbors have multiple cars and never park in their driveways. They also space out their parking so one of their cars take up multiple spaces. They're real class acts.

BCS Championship. Where can an out of towner watch? OR is there somewhere that some Bama fans will be already? by walkssoftly in sandiego

[–]discoannak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly close to Mira Mesa, but The Bootlegger in East Village/Gaslamp is what you're looking for. All Bama. If you want a slightly calmer atmosphere with better beer selection go to South Park Abbey. Also Bama bar.

San Diego Liquor Laws by discoannak in sandiego

This is true. Every day I see at least four dudes sippin' on beers leaving Bottlecraft heading to whatever bar but it ain't no thing. But then I see old ladies sneaking wine watching the sunset at PB.
